Courteney Cox’s Chic Picnic Blanket

Courteney Cox Arquette totally fooled us with this adorable printed tote! We were positive that the actress was carrying a perfectly chic spring bag to The Tripper premiere last week, but it turns out that is actually a picnic blanket carrier that everyone was given at the screening (the movie’s name is on the other side). Made by Picnic Time, the blanket comes in a variety of cute geometric patterns and is reversible fleece and waterproof nylon. And at $18, it’s a steal. Hope it kept Courteney from getting the chills during the scary movie! Get your own Sunshine Blanket Tote at katalinaklark.com.

Great Green Idea: Eco-Friendly Denim

You don’t have to sacrifice style to protect the environment. Recently Levi’s and Mavi launched eco-friendly denim in their signature styles. Levi’s {Capital E} Eco Collection features trendy skinny jeans (left), denim jackets and signature bootcuts, from $59- $190, all made with organically grown cotton and detailed with green stitching accents. The line is already a favorite of Cate Blanchett, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. You can shop Levi’s Eco-Collection at levisstore.com. Mavi’s Organic Collection similarly offers its Mona and Mindy jeans ($120) made from organic grown cotton in its stores and online. For Spring 2007, high-end eco-friendly designer Linda Loudermilk started Luxury Eco Demim, made from sustainable fabrics including Ingeo fiber, organic cotton, sasawashi, bamboo and recycled cotton — the jeans from $218-$418. View her collection here, and see where to buy here. Italian fashion brand, Replay, is also set to launch Organic Blue Jeans, a denim line created completely from natural organic cotton, this month in all its retail stores. Tell us: Would you switch to eco-friendly jeans?

Would You Wear Jessica Simpson’s High-Waisted Pants?

High-waisted pants have been lurking on the fashion horizon for a few seasons — either you are thrilled for the break from low-rise jeans and the threat of muffin tops or you are terrified at letting your torso be swallowed by your waistband. Jessica Simpson is apparently up for the challenge, stepping out for a night of dinner and dancing in a pair of distinctly high-waisted chambray pants and a clingy ivory turtleneck. While we might have picked a pair of pants that didn’t have pleated pockets on the hips, we tip our hats to Jessica for trying a different look and a hot new trend. But we want to know what you think! Tell us: Would you wear high-waisted pants like Jessica? Do you like the look on her?

The Scoop on Nicole Richie’s New Do

While the debate was raging on about Nicole Richie’s new do — love it or hate it? — we got the inside scoop from her mane man, Andy LeCompte of Chris McMillan salon. Andy tells PEOPLE that “Nicole is always ready for changes. She likes experimenting with the shorter and longer hair. She was just a little bored.” And there’s a reason that Nicole keeps going back to her shoulder length locks, “We always joke about everyone’s loving the bob! The shorter hair is a bit more flirtatious and it’s definitely fresh on Nicole.” But don’t expect to see the Simple Life star with her hair down all the time now. Andy says that the new cut has left her hair long enough “that she can wear it in a ponytail and she can still throw it back.” And isn’t that the perfect spring haircut for anyone?

Avril Lavigne’s Girly Side: Pink! Chanel!

While her ties from her “Sk8ter Boi” punk days may now reside in her garage, Avril Lavigne hasn’t totally ditched her punk roots — think of it as “sexy punk,” as her stylist Jessica Pastor terms it. From the pink streaks that have appeared in her long blonde locks to the fuchsia pumps she recently requested from Pastor, Avril is all about embracing her girlier side — and her love of pink! Even the Hot Topic shirt that she’s selling in support of her new single “Girlfriend” features a pink skull logo that she describes as “kind of cool.” We may never see her sporting it in public, but Avril tells PEOPLE that her at-home staple is the Victoria’s Secret Pink collection — “the thing that says ‘Pink’ on the butt and, like, my pink Ugg boots.” And while Avril admits that she doesn’t actually “wear a lot of high end stuff,” like any fashionable girl, she “loves Chanel. I think they’re a really good brand. Everything of theirs is good!”
