Rose McGowan's Discontinued Lipstick

04/09/2007 at 03:30 PM ET

It’s almost as bad as a breakup when you find out that your favorite shade of lipstick has been taken off the market. When Rose McGowan found out that her must-have shade of MAC lipstick, Pink Packed, was being discontinued, she was floored. “She always has it with her all the time,” says her makeup artist Jake Bailey, “it’s her favorite!” She even wore it to ShoWest in Las Vegas. Lucky for Rose, she’s got some connections, and MAC has made six tubes of Pink Packed just for her! But those of us with a bit less star power can also buy lifetime supplies of our favorite cosmetics. MAC actually has a Gone But Not Forgotten program that offers discontinued items to be sold to the customer directly — Nars, Chanel and Revlon have similiar programs. Try surfing the web for the many sites that specialize in sold-out cosmetics or turn to Three Custom Color, a N.Y.C. company that specializes in replicating lipsticks and foundations from even the smallest sample or from their existing archive of products. Maybe there really is hope in a jar!

WHEW–close call there rose!!!!! congrats on your lifetime supply of pink packed.

Isn’t that always the case! The color is very attractive.

To be rich and famous! Having everyone at your beck and call doesn’t sound too bad.
It’s just the fact that these are people, just like us and all they have done is ACT in a movie or TV program. Why do we put them up on this pedestal??? I am guilty sometimes, but then I always questions myself, I have my own life, what do I care? Anyway, I guess good for you Rose, you got someone to kiss your ass. I’m sure it won’t be the last time.

i don’t blame her for worrying, she looks so pretty and the color fits her very well. her skin is to die for!

Gee, someone’s mighty bitter about celebrities. If you supposedly don’t care, why are you even on this website, SAS?

Can you please please tell me what they used on Rose McGowan’s lips in her new film, GRINDHOUSE??? Her lips are so deliciously red, and, just like her character…CHERRY! I have to know! Please please let me know!

Yey!! Rose you are safe now! You will never have to worry about your lipstick being discontinued ever again. Oh I am so happy for you!

On the one hand, I agree that this is an example of cleb excess (I mean seriously – lifetime supply?) but at the same time, I also know how hard it is to find the perfect lipstick, having just spent two weeks trying to find the perfect neutral to match my skintone – I tried over 30 different shades and brands. She found a colour that works for her. Kudos for wanting to stick with it.

The color is lovely on her, but…did she have lip injections or something? In every picture I’ve seen of her lately her face doesn’t look quite real, especially her mouth.

She is gorgeous
