Kate Hudson's Lunch Date Cheap Chic

04/04/2007 at 01:31 PM ET

Kate Hudson just gave us one more reason to be inspired by her style. With all the fabulous designer clothes at her disposal, the sunny actress chose an adorable and affordable white dress to wear out to lunch with Owen Wilson recently. Kate’s crocheted white dress is a new style from Ella Moss and is available for $154 at bloomingdales.com. Sadly, her stylish “Antigone” sandals are Chanel and a bit more pricey — $650 at select CHANEL Boutiques, 800-550-0005. And a hot date with Owen Wilson? Priceless.

Cheap? The only thing I could do spending $150 on a dress like that is give dear hubby a heart attack! Although I somehow manage to justify any price for a pair of well-loved shoes:)

That dress is so cute white little dresses are becoming the staples of summer! It would look even cuter with a belt, bluefly.com has some great brown hippie belts for cheap!

Jen go to Forever21.com they have lots of mini’s for under 30 bucks

She looks sooo cute! I love all the new loose, short dresses. Too bad they would only look good on someone with long, thin legs. As someone else pointed out, it could easily end up looking like maternity wear…especially on someone who has shorter legs and larger thighs like me. The price is great compared to most clothes celebrities wear but, alas, still not affordable for me.

I bought a similar dress at Target a couple of weeks ago, for under $30. It was more of a scoop neck, and had a tie in the back so you could give yourself a little more shape, plus it’s a bit longer (but then not every woman has Kate’s awesome legs) so being a bit longer may not be such a bad thing. All in all, though, it’s the perfect little dress for a lunch and shopping date, or even going to the lake or something. Too cute!

Ella Moss dresses are great for the summer. If that’s too much money for you to spend consider opening a credit account at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Barney’s or Saks.

For cheap but fashionable finds I suggest shopping at H&M. The quality and fit of the clothes is much better than anything you would find at Target and just as affordable.

All I can say is thank heavens for Forever 21 and H&M!

It needs a big belt.

don’t get me wrong, i kind of like the baby doll look, but lately women’s clothing looks like little girl clothing. I can’t wait for more womanly, body conscious clothes to come back “in style”.
