Do You Match Your Accessories Like Vanessa?

We already know she looks good in short-shorts, but at a recent SELF magazine event, Vanessa Minnillo confessed to PEOPLE that her real weakness is perfectly matched accessories. “I’ve gotten into purses and sunglasses like it’s my job,” the TRL host told us. “I have to match my purse with my outfit as well as a great pair of shades. Like if I have on gold hoops and gold in my bag I won’t wear silver rimmed sunglasses. I’ve been really, really OCD with that lately.” She does “love all fashion,” but singled out designer Tracy Reese (whose beaded cocktail dress she was wearing) as a current fave. “I’m a big fan of her. I just love the store and love everything she does.” Tell us: Do you feel the need to match all of your accessories? Does it matter if they are different metals?

Love Vanessa’s Tracy Reese Dress? Buy it at edressme.com, $550.

Sanjaya Malakar’s hair is getting as much — if not more — attention as his singing. In just a few weeks on the show, the adventurous 17-year-old has undergone several tress-formations, morphing from shaggy to super-straight to ultra curly and his most recent concoction — seven teased ponytails in the shape of a faux-hawk (Wonder what Mr. T would think about that one?). Has Mary-Kate Gone Working Girl?

Is this a whole new Mary-Kate Olsen we’re seeing? Where are the clunky shoes, the over-sized cardigans, the absence of pants? We can barely recognize the petite star in her trendy wide-leg pants, pale pink button-down shirt and darker golden-blonde locks. As she leaves an office building in L.A., she almost looks — dare we say it? — professional and conservative in her new ensemble. But don’t worry, the white sunglasses and chunky cocktail rings still give the outfit the signature Mary-Kate spin. Tell us: What do you think of Mary-Kate’s new look? Do you love it or miss the old funkier style?

Charitable Idea: Cameron Diaz’s Worldly Necklace

In light of Cameron Diaz’s recent support of Al Gore’s environmental efforts, our curiosity was piqued by her new favorite necklace — a gold pendant of the Earth. We thought that the necklace might be for one of her favorite charities, and we were right! Cameron’s global pendant is made by jeweler Lena Wald, with 20% of the proceeds benefiting the NRDC, or Natural Resources Defense Council. Even better, the necklace (which is is $395 for sterling or $590 for gold like Cameron’s) is super stylish and looks great layered with other chains. Get your own at jenniferkaufman.com.

Is J. Lo Having a Style Identity Crisis?

With each passing day, Jennifer Lopez is confusing us more and more. Gone is the consistent sexy glamour that we usually associate with her — instead, every day she seems to be embracing a whole new look! Last Friday in Paris, where she was promoting her new album Como Ama Una Mujer, the star went ’60s demure in a full-skirted Zac Posen frock and a tight topknot. But for Sunday’s Echo Awards in Berlin, she went glamazon in an avant garde one-armed Lanvin dress and strappy stiletto heels. And then yesterday afternoon, she switched it all up — arriving at TRL in N.Y.C. looking like a downtown hipster in high-waisted skinny jeans, an ’80s style vest and her trusty YSL platforms. We are getting whiplash just trying to keep up! Tell us: Do you think that J. Lo is having a style identity crisis? Or is the change doing her good?

Mourning the Loss of Scott Weiland’s Wardrobe

When the news hit that Mary Weiland, wife of Velvet Revolver’s front man Scott Weiland, was arrested for burning $10,000 worth of the singer’s wardrobe outside of their San Fernando Valley home, reaction ranged from sadness (the Weiland’s two young children are now in the custody of family friends) to puzzlement: how could Scott Weiland possibly have that much invested in his couture? Style watchers aren’t surprised — Weiland is a fashion week regular, the current face of designer John Varvatos and has long considered himself a clothes horse since he abandoned the grunge look of his original band, Stone Temple Pilots. He may go shirtless on stage, but on the red carpet he is known for his impeccably tailored British suits from Ozwald Boateng or Paul Smith and artfully combining jeans with a tuxedo jacket or artfully undone tie. For those who dare say that his wife might have done him a favor, we remind you that Weiland brought the vested suit in to the rock arena long before Justin Timberlake made them ubiquitous.
