Get the Look: Lucy Liu's Cheap Chic

03/30/2007 at 04:45 PM ET

We were thrilled to see Lucy Liu on the set of her new ABC show Cashmere Mafia sporting a casual chic look we loved — and could afford! Get her sweet Juicy Couture Cherry Tee, $68, available at neimanmarcus.com. The checkerboard shoes are Van’s Classic Slip-ons, $37-$40, available at shop.vans.com. Get the look of her cuffed-up black pants with these Gap Stretch Cotton slacks, $50, available at gap.com. And for a look-a-like snakeskin bag, check out this Stone Mountain Lolita Small Rounded Hobo, $30, from amazon.com. Don’t you just love when you can afford star style?

umm i love lucy Liu…shes soo beautiful…BUT…eewwwww! I think she looks horrible! of course her hair and face r still beautiful but those clothes r nasty!…the shoes r the worst..they even look dirty, yuck!…and they are NOT age appropriate.. maybe if she was 13 they wouldnt be so bad? but eeww she should not be wearing this!!!!! im shocked!

When bad clothes happen to good people…..

Lori on

The outfit is sort of frumpy… but her face and hair look good.

Elda on

i’m guilty big time, on the weekends i don’t like to wear make up and usually dress like that.

Mindy on

I went to high school with her and I wouldn’t be surprised if those are her old sneakers- they look like the kind all the “cool” kids in high school wore.

krystal on

Who cares what she wears on her time off?? Its her life she wear whatever she wants and shouldnt have to be judged.

” Don’t you just love when you can afford star style? ” ‘Scuse me, but it seems that ANYone could afford this “style” … just head to your nearest Salvation Army thrift shop. Casual comfort is one thing but she looks downright slovenly in this photo.

Sara on

“Don’t you just love when you can afford star style?” Uh, not when that’s the style. Why would I want to dress like that?

Jessica on

She looks homeless in this outfit.

She looks good but (her face hair etc) but are we supposed to be either impressed or inspired by this outfit? I wore a nicer outfit today and I cleaned my house all day!

Emily on

like the shirt and the shoes, but switch the black capris into a pair of Chip and Pepper jeans and your good to go

Lynn on

There is nothing wrong with sporting a casual look. She looks fine.

Ya know what, I think I have a CHEAPER and MORE CHIC outfit for lazy weekend errands…..

Cropped green pants, Old Navy, $26.50

Pink floral tank, AE, $19.50

Brown platform sandals, Target, $19.99

Yellow Faux-Leather tote, $32.80, Forever21

(p.s. take out the to see the links!)

Thats the kind of outfit I always wear on the weekends. Much cuter than Lucy’s, yet just as comfy!

(I do LOVE Ms. Liu, though!)

She’s on the set of her upcoming show; will this show be about laundry day, or borrowing the clothes of her much bigger roommate when her wardrobe gets burgled? I wouldn’t call this “chic” but I certainly have been known to hit the grocery store looking every bit this frumpy, and not nearly as well groomed from the neck up.

Lucy Liu is incredibly SEXY.
Though i’m not sure I love this
outfit, she still looks cute though.

Wait, $68 for a T-Shirt is affordable? How about a $10 one from Wal*Mart?

KT from Cda on

What’s so exciting about this get up? Maybe she borrowed it from someone who is much bigger then her?

cute shirt

eye4style on

Cheap, yes. Chic, I’m not so sure.

Judy on

I love Lucy but i wouldn’t pay $68 for that top. The whole outfit is not my kind of style. I love her hair though.

kate on

i think shes looks really cute and quirky- i love the relaxed, slobby look!

JenB on

Has anyone totaled those prices? Her slouchy “cheap chic” outfit costs $188! And that’s with the off-brand handbag! When I’m in sneaks and sweats, I can guarantee you I’m wearing no more than $75 from head to toe. Apparently “cheap” has a completely different meaning for celebrities than it does for the rest of us.

Ashley on

She looks good to me – I love dressing comfy when I’m not at work…maybe some folks who have such a problem with it don’t have to work all day, so maybe they don’t appreciate coming home and throwing on some old sweats. Jeesh.
