Aside from the fact this necklace is innovative and quite beautiful, I think it’s a shame that no good deed goes unpunished. Did anyone ever think to consider that the designer (not the store) didn’t have to donate a single cent to a charity? The necklace itself sends a positive message and whether you can afford it, like it or not, business goes on as usual and everyone is entitled to earn a living. Lena Wald’s designs are modern, sophisticated and created with unique sensibilities — if only the well off can afford them, so be it.

cameron is not promoting the necklace, she is weaing it because she likes it. and the fact that the designer is donating 20% of her profit to the NRDC is a bonus, something she decided to do. the desiner’s profit from the necklace is about 1/6th of it’s retail price. nobody is getting rich off of this item.

$395 for silver…NO NO NO. Ya know it makes sense that someone who supports Al Gore would wear something like that and pay that much for it. Not only that but why would such an avid supporter of the earths health spend that kind of money on something so trivial…why wouldnt she donate all of the money to the NRDC.

Agreed Shel. Other than that, I commend Cameron and her love for the environment. I’m so glad that a celebrity can lend their hands and voice into something charitable. The environment is VERY important to care about. I think we all should take notes on how to improve our environment, even the little things we can do is important. Anyway, I would love to buy this necklace, but it’s too much for me.

Any company charging 395+ for silver necklace is pocketing the money 20% is just change. I will not deal with a company like that and i hope people would do the same if your gonna give don’t profit from it. and same on diaz for supporting that. half measures avail us nothing.

I agree with the first two posters. I just think if they made the price so everyone could afford it. Look how much more money they’d get. Mind you I’m Canadian and I think that maybe that would be a good idea for up here too. Just a thought. Just also wanted to mention that I like her shirt. But not her hair colour. I know most of you do but I think she looked better as a blonde.

i think the necklace is awesome, i really believe we can make a difference for the future and for the animals (they desperately need all the respect we can give them for all the toture man kind has done to them). I’m for this and it may be kinda pricey but i think it’s worth it! P.S. Cameron looks lovely!

I like the necklace..just wish it was at a more affordable price. I am sure if 20 million people could afford it they would buy it and thus half of that could go to the NRDC.

I love Cameron in the movie “The Holiday”. She’s so funky and quirky…she’s just awesome!

I agree, 20% is not even a drop in the bucket for such a good cause. They are making more than enough money off of this item! I always commend the effort of celebrities using their name for a good cause though.
I thought Cameron has her nose fixed, it still looks crooked?

If you’re going to charge $395 for a SILVER not platinum, not white gold but common silver necklace then you can afford to donate a hell of a lot more than 20% of the profits to NRDC.
