Mischa Barton: Fashion Multi-Tasker

03/27/2007 at 04:30 PM ET

Mischa Barton is due at a launch for Keds in less than an hour, so she’s multi tasking: “These onion rings are good,” she announces on my arrival at her Knightsbridge hotel suite, with an onion ring in one hand and a pair of Keds sneakers in the other. As ambassador for the sneaker line, Mischa is in town for the brand’s London launch. “I design as well,” she says as I sneak a look at her super skinny jeans and make-up free, dewy complexion with green envy. “I have some input – especially these sneakers with the hearts on them, they were inspired by me,” she says proudly. “They’re even going to be sold at Topshop which I thought was cool.” So how does her home town of London compare in the style stakes to her native New York? “I am a bit of a downtown girl because I live in Tribeca. I like the vintage shopping in New York. English style is sometimes more refined, it’s more about matching.” One quick change later, she reappears in a sparkly Miu Miu black dress and matching black Keds. I guess she is a Brit at heart! — Monique Jessen

I don’t think that people are saying that her legs are fat…it’s more about her legs not being toned. They have the kind of shapelessness that shows mischa is naturally thin, but probably never works out. She’s lucky to stay thin without working out (unless she does it by not eating which is BAD), but her legs could look healthier and more defined if she did.

By no means does Mischa have fat legs – that is just ridiculous! I love her Keds dress, it is so cute! You go Mischa – I think you are beautiful just the way you are! :o)

apart from the terrible clothing bit, i agree.. you cannot change your ankles as much as you’d like to!!! and fyi she has a bril fashion sense featured in style mags loads… she dresses a lot better than you do (or would)

She always dresses HORRIBLE. Why is she even famous?

To the one who addressed my concerns about weight issues. And you know me how? How do you know what I dress like? You don’t. For all you know I could be dressed like a million bucks right now. I just love how when anyone gives their point of views of something and someone doesn’t agree they automatically say you are jealous. I think she dresses bad sometimes. I didn’t say all the time. I just think she needs to pick some better choices. I actually don’t mind the design of the keds dress. I just don’t like to wear things that have words on it. But thanks for agreesing about the weight issue. I was sticking up for Mischa. Maybe she is proud of her legs.

The white keds dress is super-cute! The black dress is hard to tell mostly because of the angle of the picture. Square to the camera is perhaps the least flattering way to be photographed. Also, the short-sleeves give her a hunched-over appearance, but again that could be the angle more than anything. 45 degrees, Mischa, and you would have nailed it.

Hi everybody, I’ve been reading these wonderful posts for awhile now and thought I’d jump on board. I’m not digging the potato-sack Mischa’s wearing in the Keds ad (shame on you, Keds) but the little black number is very cute w/o being childish or girlie.

Have you seen Mishca’s mom? That’s a preview of mishca 20 years from now. Perhaps that’s why she doesn’t have “shapely and toned” legs…
