Mischa Barton: Fashion Multi-Tasker

03/27/2007 at 04:30 PM ET

Mischa Barton is due at a launch for Keds in less than an hour, so she’s multi tasking: “These onion rings are good,” she announces on my arrival at her Knightsbridge hotel suite, with an onion ring in one hand and a pair of Keds sneakers in the other. As ambassador for the sneaker line, Mischa is in town for the brand’s London launch. “I design as well,” she says as I sneak a look at her super skinny jeans and make-up free, dewy complexion with green envy. “I have some input – especially these sneakers with the hearts on them, they were inspired by me,” she says proudly. “They’re even going to be sold at Topshop which I thought was cool.” So how does her home town of London compare in the style stakes to her native New York? “I am a bit of a downtown girl because I live in Tribeca. I like the vintage shopping in New York. English style is sometimes more refined, it’s more about matching.” One quick change later, she reappears in a sparkly Miu Miu black dress and matching black Keds. I guess she is a Brit at heart! — Monique Jessen

That “keds” dress she has on is super cute!

I still think there is something odd-looking about her legs. I can’t quite put my finger on it though.

What’s odd about her legs is that they have absolutely no shape. Her ankles are almost the same size as her knees and there is just no definition to her legs at all. My daughter has the same type of leg–long and slim but no shape. A regular bike routine or even walking (uphill) would help add some definition and shape to her calves. Working out isn’t just for losing weight, but for adding tone and shape to muscles.

She has skinny – fat girl legs. No tone or definition, just plain skinny. She takes the cankle to a whole new level – thicankle. Not pretty.

This girl needs to tone her legs, do some jogging, or actually play tennis perhaps. They are completely shapeless, and like that she can´t sell sneakers.

Honestly, I dont see the problem with her legs. I hope nobody is saying her legs are fat! She is SO thin and she always has been. That black outfit is really cute, and the Keds pic is gorgeous! How can you say her legs arent beautiful in that pic?

Her legs show that she stays slim bye not eating not by excerise.

Her legs are just fine. She’s wearing flats for crying out loud. It’s in everyone’s best interest to stop criticizing the appearances of young, perfectly healthy, women. Who are we to scrutinize a woman who is not only healthy, but, in the public eye, subject to the idolization of millions of young, impressionable girls?

Once again she is wearing terrible clothing. As for her legs, so what. Just b/c she is famous doesn’t mean that she has to be pin thin from top to bottom. Lets all stop about the weight issue. People who are having difficulties with beating the starving or sticking their fingers down their throughts don’t need to read that. All this critisms about weight issues is just making them work harder at trying to kill themselves to be thin. How ab out accepting someone for who they are.
