Trendwatch: Low Heels Step Up

In the latest issue of StyleWatch, on newsstands now, our editors show that an inch can make all the difference in the world. From ballet flats to mini-wedges, low-heeled shoes look perfect for spring. A low heel (1/4 inch or just over 1-inch) can actually be more comfortable than a totally flat shoe and just that little lift helps slim the legs. Add a little sex appeal with a peep toe or cutouts, or try a metallic for a dressy night out. Check out more great flats and other hot spring trends by picking up StyleWatch. Here are some of our favorites flats:

I always wear a very low heel. I’m only 5′1 and I look really silly in high heels. Either flats or a little heel for me.

Some doctors have actually argued about flats and how they affect bad posture since flats are so ‘flat’ and it’s good to have an arch. This new style still shows off cute flats but flars it up at bit with the heel. It looks to me like it does add some arch and I think their cute.

I’ve always worn very tall heels and I’m very agile in my 3″ heels! But since I’m 5′10″ and I tower over my husband, I’ve started mixing in some ballet flats too–they come in such cute styles, and they make me feel more feminine in some outfits that, with heels, would make me feel like the jolly green giant!

Alice

I’m not a big fan of the low heel, its either flats or high heels for me.

The uglier the shoe..the higher the price!!

ucokaty

i agree with alice! not a fan of these at all! i’m only 5′1 and i think shorter people look better in actual heels.

Seeing as I’m only 5′1, I don’t think I’ll be wearing low heels anytime soon! I think the shoes are ugly personally. Not very sexy FOR SURE.

Mary

No thanks, I think I’ll stick with my flats or stilettos.

DAHLiA

Well the middle one isn’t so bad.But I like flats better. =]
