Bright Idea: Spray Foundation

03/19/2007 at 03:30 PM ET

I hate the feeling of caked-on foundation so when I heard about Dior’s AirFlash, I had to try it. It was a little scary applying foundation like hairspray to my face, but it was suprisingly airy and fresh! It didn’t get on my clothes or hair and was easy to blend with a brush. The mother of pearl pigments felt light and soft on my face, and after about eight hours of dinner and dancing, it still felt like I had just applied–no running down my face, cracking or clumping. It’s no wonder Emmy Rossum refuses to wear anything but AirFlash. It can be bought at sephora.com for $60 a bottle. Would you try this spray foundation? I promise, once you do you’ll be hooked!- Andrea DeSimone

Actually its not a new product. it was released last year. and as most of us i was afraid that it will be on my hair and cloths BUT you dont have to hold it far from your face (as you use mineral sprays for the face). Shake it well and hold it closer to your skin, then use your hands(not for you, Tiffany, sorry :)) to spreed it evenly. It realy gives natural look without oily appearance. Maybe a bit too expansive but the bottle lasts long. My verdict: it’s worth to try it. p.s. didnt you think that i am working for SOME cosmetic company and trying to persuade you here? no, i am not :)

MAC has a similar foundation that’s only $28.50. I’ve heard that it works really well, and the price is a lot better!

I’d love to try it but the price puts me off. I avoid foundation as much as possible because I can’t stand the feeling of having clogged skin, I’ve been thinking about trying the Dior for some time but I just can’t bring myself to shell out $60 on a maybe. So I’ll be waiting for one of the other premium brands to bring out a slightly cheaper version. Plus the lightest colour looks like it would be orange on my superpale skin.

I would totally try it! But right now I’m hooked on mousse foundation, so fabulous!

I agree with most here that it is a great idea but a bit too pricey. I would love to try it though.

Like KM said, they use spray-on fondation on TLC’s What Not to Wear, except they spray it on a sponge first and then apply it. I’m still trying to find out the brand of the fondation Carmindy, the makeup artist in the show, uses. Hopefully, it’s cheaper than this one.

wouldn’t you accidetily spray that in your hair? and it would be difficult to make even.

Kat on

I’d love to try it for the rare occasions I do wear foundation, but it’s WAAAYYYY too expensive!

Ashley on

Way too expensive for me. I am also skeptical, just don’t know how you would get it even and keep it from running or rubbing off, etc. Kinda like a “spray-on face”??? Not for me. I will stick to my Loreal.
