I absolutely love my grey hair!! - The light pale grey against the darker grey is beautiful. I am 53 years old, and I have been dying my hair for too many years - My hair is also long - I keep it a little past my shoulders. - I also have curly hair. I am still blonde on the ends of my hair so I have my colorist color only half (or less) of my head - dark blonde lowlights and pale natural highlights to blend in with the blonde ends - My greys are noticable but combine nicely with the other two shades. I will do this until the ends are all cut off. My hair is also curly so it helps to camoflague the difference of the two techniques. I am also a bit unconventional so I feel that the grey suits my m.o.

I'm 41 yrs old and really thinking of going gray but , . . .
the truth is that I would only that it is so scary and I would feel so very old and I don't feel old at all.
so when the time comes I will go gray on my 50th birthday so in the mean time silver will have to wait.
good luck to all the silver bells and my you all look wonderfully elegant.

I am tired of dying my hair. I've been grey since my 30's and my hair was beautiful. I let a stylist talk me into coloring it, and it's never been the same. I'm 57 years old now I'm looking forward to the length and silver. I'm not only tired of dying my hair, but I'm also tired of trying to please those who think it should be darker. I am who I am. I like my hair long and silver. I believe as long as you take care of your hair, wear a good style and keep it up, it looks great no matter what color it is. It is too bad that society looks down on those women who choose not to dye. we are not unkept.

to answer your question...yes i would let my hair go gray. there is no problem with letting people know that you are getting older and that can be a wonderful thing. everyone does it and its completly natural.

My mother dyes her hair and I feel that it almost takes away from her beauty. She's so naturally beautiful that by trying to make her self appear younger she is actually taking away from it. I on just started dying my hair (i'm 20) and even now I only die part of it. I refuse to dye my hair when I'm older. My grey hair will be a symbol of my wisdom, my life, and all the love I've given!

I'm 43 and my hair is about 60% grey. I would have loved to go natural, but unfortunately, I did not inherit my father's beautiful silver hair. Mine are strands of harsh grey, white and sometimes yellow. I did try not to dye for more than a year - it only made me look extremely exhausted and washed out, as though I don't take care of myself. I envy those who have a beautiful silver mane!

Going gray is the one thing about getting old that doesn't scare me! I am the worst wrinkle-freak (and not even 30, so it's not much to obsess about yet) but as long as I have my long hair the colour doesn't matter, it's all good.

I am 26 years years old. I would definitely stop dying my hair because, well I have! I started getting gray hair at 16 years old. I started dying it when I was pregnant with my daughter at age 21 and last year I stopped dying it! I love the gray that runs through my bangs and else where! I want to grow old gracefully not kicking and screaming! Age is a state of mind not a hair color!

I am 59 and I don't dye my hair anymore. I hated the way my grandmother used to have 3 toned hair--grey roots, next a reddish brown with blackish tips. This was her effort to dye her hair dark like it was when she was younger. The same happene to me when I would try to dye it. You see, the new growth would only take some of the dye and the already dyed hair would take the dye better with a second layer and be dark. As the hair grew in you could see the grey--thus 3 toned hair.

My solution was to leave my dye in for 45 minutes and then follow with another 45 minute application to get my hair dark brown. But the contrast of ingrowing hair was so stark that I was forced to do my hair at least once a month.
so 5 years ago I cut my hair very short and stopped dyeing it. My hair is about 45% grey and it is a beautiful shiny silver color. I would love for it to all turn grey to have this silver color all over but in my family our hair tendds to get grey very slowly. i realize I look old but I am working on losing weight and toning up to offset my aging.

About 7 years ago I had my eyebrows tattooed so I'm not sure how they'll lk with all grey hair and how I should change the colors and makeup I wear. The aritcles I read online don't help. Somebody should do a program about it.

I am all for going natural if that is what one wants. However, don't kid yourself into thinking it does not add 29 years to your appearance, because IT DOES. You are only kidding yourself if you think you look as young as you would if you colored your hair. Now I will add that there is NOTHING wrong with not dying ones hair. It looks great, and I imagine it is wonderful to not have to sit in the solon chair for two hours every month. I have even come close to abandoning the trouble and expense myself. But don't kid yourself into believing you look just as young as you would with a little color. You simply will not and do not. But it's OK.

I am all for going natural if that is what one wants. However, don’t kid yourself into thinking it does not add 29 years to your appearance, because IT DOES. But don’t kid yourself into believing you look just as young as you would with a little color. You simply will not and do not. But it’s OK.

In my family, basically all the women have exceptionally blonde hair (including me); so with age, comes whiter--not grayer--hair. It's really very pretty, but I prefer the silver color over the white. The nurse practioner at my old college had this absolutely gorgeous head of silver hair; she pulled it off beautifully and was actually the one who made me consider the color. Therefore, I'm planning on giving silver a try when I get older.

Why not let your hair go natural. I've been through chemo twice in three years and I'm just grateful that I have hair. Who cares what color it is!

My hair started going gray at age 15, at first I started coloring it but by the time I hit my 30's I gave it up. I am 54 y/o and proud of my gray hair. The comment that gray hair ages you, well it all depends on how you take care of yourself. People don't believe that I am 54 y/o, they actually think I am in my early 40's, I just happen to gray early. So if Roseanne wants to go gray, I say "Welcome to the club".
