Tori Spelling Pulls Off a No Maternity Clothes Pregnancy!

03/13/2007 at 12:30 PM ET

Chalk it up to tent dresses, oversize tunics, empire waists and the other voluminous fashion trends of this year, but Tori Spelling has made it almost to the end of her pregnancy without switching to maternity wear. We’ve gotten the giggles over her endless fashion faceoffs with non-pregnant stars (like Mena Suvari and Molly Sims), but it is remarkable! Sure, Tori started out as a tiny size two so she had a few sizes to expand into, but she can’t be alone in her decision to skip the maternity section. Will other pregnant stars like Naomi Watts and Salma Hayek follow her lead? Will the rest of us be mistaken for being pregnant in our billowing sundresses?

Expecting or not, everyone looks good in this paillette-topped Alice+Olivia bubble dress. Get your own in yellow at nordstrom.com, $295.

I think Tori looks cute. Being pregnant does not mean you have to look like a frump.

Not very cute and too showy for carrying a pregnancy.

With the exception of the blue Alice + Olive sequined top dress ( shown) Tori has pulled off a pregnancy look that is way better than anything she’s wore before. I’m not sure if she got a new stylist for her pregnancy, but she needs to keep them…her style has never looked better.

i don’t think you have to wear maternity clothes just because your pregnant but if you are going to wear clothes that arent made for pregnant people be classy about it and choose the right styles, lengths, and colours that will help emphasize your belly in a positive way

I went for most of my pregnancy without wearing maternity clothes, but towards the end they were just so much more comfortable… who wants something too tight or too short? She looks like she is expressing her style well though…

I am all for abandoning the kittens and bows that adorn maternity wear…I have struggled against that silly stuff twice now, but, this dress?

Too short, hon. Crowning babies should be a private affair.

I would have to disagree with a lot of you, I don’t think that Tori has looked trashy during her pregnancy. She’s been proud of her pregnancy and has wanted to show off that baby bump. So what if her outfits haven’t been maternity? Is there a rule saying that a pregnant woman must wear only maternity clothes? I think her outfits have been cute, sexy, and/or fun. I don’t understand why people are so down on her. Now BRITNEY was trashy during her pregnancy, yikes!

I don’t like this outfit, but have to give her some praise. Many maternity clothes are not made for women with style (at least not in central IL). I made it the whole time without maternity clothes also!

I think that Tori looked terrible. Maternity clothes are cut with the expanding stomach in mind–in other words, longer in the front. Tori just looked poured into everything and cheap.

You all are just jealous that you probably couldn’t even consider wearing something like that when you were pregnant. Props to the girl for being 9 months pregnant and looking like that.
