Forest Whitaker’s Fashion Emergency

While most of us can’t tell one tuxedo from another, for stylish men like Best Actor Nominee Forest Whitaker, they can still cause a fashion emergency. The Last King of Scotland star has been pretty loyal to designer Arnold Brandt for ensembles this awards season, but that doesn’t guarantee that the actor is immune to fashion mix-ups from the label. The custom-made black mink and cashmere dinner jacket with tuxedo trousers the Whitaker wore to the BAFTAs was actually meant for his SAG Awards appearance back in January– but he was originally mistakenly sent navy slacks instead of the black ones that matched the jacket. Luckily, he had a change of clothes handy for the SAGs and was able to use the Arnold Brandt black tux for his London appearance. Now, the real question is what will he be wearing to the Oscars on Sunday?

Getting Oscar Ready: VIP Beauty Treatments

Sonya Dakar has already had a who’s who–including Gwyneth Paltrow and Paula Abdul– come through for their VIP gifting suite and special Oscar Facial, which is a combination of their Fitness Facial, UltraLuxe Age Control Facial, Red Light LED treatment and Oxygen Treatment.

Hearts On Fire, known for their perfectly cut diamonds, has partnered with Spa on Location, to create a mobile spa to vist nominees, presenters and top VIPS at their home. The treatment to get is the DREAM GIRL Diamond Massage featuring one million dollars in loose diamonds.

– Stars like Jessica Biel, Demi Moore and Jennifer Lopez are scheduled to hit the Luxury Oscar Spa Retreat at the home of famed brow groomer Anastasia featuring facials and massages by ultra-luxe line Natura Bisse, manis and pedis by Creative Nail Design, teeth whitening by Dr. Peter Rinaldi, hairstyling by Laurent D of Prive and of course, brows by the hostess.

Tracie Martyn is bringing her signature re-sculpting facial to L.A. from her NYC spa — Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon have already scheduled appointments before the big night (and are ponying up $500 a piece for the treatment!) Jennifer Aniston stopped by last year pre-Oscars.

Kinara Spa will close for two days just before the Oscars so that the likes of Halle Berry along with other VIPs (maybe regulars Selma Blair and Hilary Swank?) can have facials and massages without paparazzi at the window. The spa is tenting the building entrance and garage, so no one can see in for extra privacy.

Pam Is Giving Up Her Uggs: Will You?

Last fall we asked your opinion on one of the most loved-and-hated trends of the past few years — Uggs Boots — originally popular with L.A. girls like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Pamela Anderson — and you overwhelmingly said you still loved them. Now, longtime animal-rights supporter Anderson has announced that she is discarding the cozy footwear, saying on her website: “I am getting rid of them…. I used to wear them with my red swimsuit to keep warm — never realizing they were SKIN!” Since this winter is not quite over yet, we want to know: Are you still not ready to give up your Uggs? If you are, what are you replacing them with?

What Tie Should Leo Wear to the Oscars?

With all of his nominations for both Blood Diamond and The Departed this award season, Leonardo DiCaprio sure has had plenty of reasons to trot out the formalwear. And he’s demonstrated his love of classic tuxedoed looks — no splashes of inappropriate color, bolo ties or Jeremy Irons-like dandy style here — opting for elegant black ties at each affair. At the Golden Globes ceremony in January, DiCaprio sported a classic black bowtie, while at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, only two weeks later, he opted for a trendier long tie. This begs the question: What should Leo wear to the traditionally buttoned-up Academy Awards? Would you prefer to see him in a bowtie or a long tie? Or should he try something totally new and different?

Style Sneak Peek: Anika Noni Rose Gets Glam For The Oscars

Most celebrities are very secretive about the details of their red carpet look –it’s all about the big reveal. But Dreamgirl Anika Noni Rose is breaking the rules! Gearing up for her Oscar night performance, Rose’s glam squad gives PEOPLE an exclusive style sneak peak. Well, everything but the dress!

- Diamonds are a Dreamgirls Best Friend: The Tony Award Winning actress will be wearing Chopard jewelry. No specifics yet, but we do know she has a thing for bold color stones and classic diamonds.

- Free Flowing Hair: Hair stylist Randy Stodghill will be giving Rose “a modern day version of Veronica Lake” style. Rose prefers wavy and free hair, which will be styled just above her shoulders. For her multi-song performance, Stodghill’s “fast hands” will be whipping together an up-do.

- The Perfect Dewy Glow: “Oscar night is about glam, but not too much glam,” says makeup artist Tym Shutchai Buacharern. For strong neutral eyes and a bronze glow, he will use MAC Bronze EFX and MAC Blacktrack Gel Eyeliner and top off the look with Ardell Eyelashes. “She can wear them for hours!”

- Steppin’ To The Bad Side: Rose will be wearing custom-made Stuart Weitzman shoes with diamonds to compliment her gown. Toes need bling too!
