Red Carpet Style: Feathered Dresses

dias/newspix international; Steve Granitz/WireImage; fame

Starlets of a feather have been flocking together– feathered dresses have been popping up on a few red carpet favorites this past week. The Oscars witnessed two major feather moments, with Maggie Gyllenhaal’s spectacular Proenza Schouler and Kirsten Dunst’s ice blue Chanel Couture gown (not to mention Penelope Cruz’s shredded chiffon gown, which mimicked the look.) We also spotted Mischa Barton in a nude feathered minidress that looks ultra 60′s with her black tights. But a word of caution, there can be too much of a good thing — Kimora Lee Simmons’ Lily et Cie dress looks like it could use a little plucking at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Tell us: Would you wear a feather trimmed dress?

Feathers might become the next “Say-No-To-Fur” debate!??

I love Maggie in navy blue!!! It looks gorgeous on her! Navy is so classic, its dark like a black dress but gives it that little something extra. And I think some of the other feathery dresses were over the top, but hers was just simple at the bottom. Beautiful!

I did wear a feather trimmed dress… at my middle school Christmas dance!

Mischa looks awful (it hurts me to say that… at least she looked amazing in the star tracks today!). Kimora Lee is better, definitely not ready to be “plucked.” Maggie’s works… its somehow both very original and still classy. I think we’re all happy when she shows up looking like she’s wearing something other than Olsen castaways.

Now this may be my personal vendetta against Kirsten Dunst speaking, but she was easily the worst dressed at the Oscars… even the nutty lady wearing the multi colored circus tent was able to rock batty. Poor Kirsten just looked like somebody had dropped her off there and without mentioning “By the way, we’ll be going by the Oscars,” which in that case I can sympathize–my husband likes to take me on suprise dates but is very inept at helping me figure out what to wear when I don’t know where we’re going. Maybe someone pulled the same thing on Kirsten?

The dress in the middle is ok but aren’t really my taste but i sure feel sorry for the birds that had to sacrifice there lifes for these wierd dresses.

Kimora Lee: Dress looks a bit over the top. Maybe it would be better if she’d put her hair up and the look would be less busy?

Maggie: Gorgeous. If you’re going to wear feathers, she’s done it beautifully and tastefully. I’d wear Maggie’s dress to the right occasion.

Mischa: Terrible! Nude dress with opaque black tights and black shoes…in the winter? She might actually have pulled it off with the right shoes and no tights. Since I dislike nude and blush tones, I would not wear her dress.

Maggie G. looks pretty but she always smiles like she is sucking on lemons.

Remember that Bjork Feather outfit everyone laughed at few years back? We are laughing again.

Mischa Barton looks like crap! She’s rates right up there with the Olsen Twins!
