I was simply commenting on your earlier comment which
was:

I couldn’t agree with you more – that there is more to a woman than her size. However, I was simply trying to point out that, most likely, the reason people were commenting on her size, looks, etc. is because this is a blog that was specifically referring to Kate’s (red carpet) looks – it wasn’t a blog about her acting (even though, you are right when you say that she is an accomplished actress). You are also right that people, generally, don’t comment on the size of men. Unfortunately, that’s because our society doesn’t “value” thinness in men like they do in women. (However, men are somewhat “expected” to have a muscular physique. Although, that pressure doesn’t come close to comparing to the pressure that some women feel in regards to their own bodies). I guess we can feel hopeful when we read (such as in this blog) that people think that someone like Kate can be a good role model – that she proves that not all women have to be stick-thin to be beautiful. :-)
Hopefully, one day, the focus can be less on being a certain weight, but rather, on embracing the fact that we all come in different shapes and sizes. (Just like we all have different personalities and different talents/skills, etc.) But we also need to remember that like with eating disorders, obesity is also an epidemic in this country. We need to start focusing on being healthy, not being thin.

Kate is not only BEAUTIFUL and ACCOMPLISHED, but I appreciate seeing her be a REAL role model for all women, young or old, out there. She is such a talented actress. You don’t see her pulling antics in the press to make herself more famous. She’s using her ability and talent to get the real and true recognization that she DESERVES. I want this woman to win an Oscar, because she’s absolutely deserving of one. Also, her body is tremendous. I’m happy to see a beautiful curvy woman who has some meat on her bones. These people who point out her weight in the media, really has some nerve.

As for Kate’s fashion…..what can I say? Just beautiful. I love every single one of her gowns in the photos above. That blue dress is amazing on her. She’s gorgeous. Keep working it girl.
