Patricia Field Puts Her Cheapest Foot Forward

The stylist best known for making pricey Manolo Blahniks, Christian Louboutins and Jimmy Choos mainstream on Sex and the City told us a shocker that would have Carrie Bradshaw tripping all over herself. Patricia Field, an Oscar nominee for Best Costume Design for The Devil Wears Prada, will be walking the Academy’s red carpet in budget footwear. “I’m going to be wearing a pair of Payless shoes,” says Field, who created a line of footwear for the brand. “Oh, they’re gorgeous. They’re metallic snake in a couple of different colors, gold and silver.” Cheap really is chic!

gross. cheap shoes smell. it doesn’t make any sense to waste money on something that will not last.

i’m not being a snob. i’m telling you my PREFERENCE. just like your preference is cheap stuff. it matters to ME how i spend my hard earned money.

So what? If they look good it doesn’t matter what they cost.

Payless shoes are becoming more and more nicer and it’s more reasonable than any other pricey shoes and on top of it all, they’re very comfortable.

Honey, I don’t recall saying I like cheap stuff. I will pay a lot for something timeless, otherwise, why waste my money? And I’m not going to degrade someone for their shoe choices. Funny, I don’t have a problem with my stinking in cheaper shoes, that must just be you …..

Why pay astronomical prices for the newest fashion in footwear when you can get it at Payless at a steal!! ‘Cheap’ shoes aren’t like they used to be….give them a try before you stick your nose up at them.

I used to wear shoes from Payless all the time when I was a kid–I was too poor and young to know any better. Now, I wear Manolos when I dress up.

I avoid shoes from Payless because the shoes don’t seem to be very well made, though they are slightly more appealing now than in the past. But I figure that if I’ve got the money, I’ll gladly spend the money on nice designer shoes.

What brand did she design? I like Payless for beach shoes, they have good flip flops that seem to remain timeless…
