What’s Cate Blanchett’s Red Carpet Personality?

Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Notes on a Scandal, Cate Blanchett is the Chameleon of this year’s award season.

Signature Look: Blanchett can pull off a variety of styles, from cutting edge to classic. But two things remain constant: impeccable fit and unexpected detail.

Favorite Designers: Blanchett relies on red carpet big guns like Valentino and Dior but sprinkles in edgy designers such as Rodarte and Alexander McQueen. Unique shoes from Roger Vivier and Armani Prive (diamond platforms!) complete her looks.

What She Will Wear: Instead of participating in the Oscars dress derby, the star usually works exclusively with one designer, and this year the word is it’s Armani Prive.

I think she always looks amazing and different. She stands out because she has her own individual style and is always elegant. I also think she has fantastic bone structure, she has that look of the old movie stars e.g. Dietrich etc

okay AshleyL, she does look “otherwordly,”– but in a good way. and “weird?”– try mysterious. i ADORE the beige and gold trimmed dress. cate looks amazing, and always carries herself with such class.

Ok Faith I do not, at all, find her style to be mysterious. Just weird, like I said the first time. And I do not like it at all. She is conservative, bravo to her for that I guess, but I would never wear any of these dresses. And really, I think the very first and very last styles look cheap, even though I’m sure they’re not. And I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again– it’s very strange when people get offended over one’s opinion of a celebrity. They’re not your friend or your family member, they don’t even know you, so quit acting like someone just insulted your best friend.
