Tim Gunn on Project Runway and His New Gig

It’s official: Tim Gunn will make it work for another season of Project Runway. “Definitely,” says Gunn, on whether he’s returning for season four of the hit reality show. “The contract isn’t done, but it will be. They’d have to beat me away with clubs, to be honest.” One gig that is ending, however, is his post as dean of Parson’s fashion department — Gunn is moving on to become creative director of Liz Claiborne. “I feel the lion’s share of what I really could achieve [at Parsons], I did,” he says. “I’ve been in academia for 29 years, so now I get to take all that great knowledge and apply it to the real world, which I’m thrilled about because I always love a challenge… I’m really eager to roll up my sleeves and get into the more basic Liz brands because they reach such a huge audience.”

How Nelly Furtado Is Getting Ready for the Grammys

How does the pop nominee prepare for a Grammy night that includes red carpet close-ups, a high-energy performance and late-night parties? Furtado—along with hairstylist Laini Reeves and makeup artist Colleen Creighton— gave PEOPLE the scoop. Eschewing a nutritionist or personal trainer, Furtado stocks up on fresh fruit, steamed veggies and water two weeks before the show and tones by rehearsing for her upcoming “Get Loose” tour. “The dancing is a great all-over body workout,” says the singer, who favors Liftoff energy drink for quick pick-me-ups. Reeves uses Kérastase Nutritive Lait Nutri-Sculpt on Furtado’s hair, since throat-irritating hairspray is usually off-limits: “Her hair responds better with the least amount of product.” For the red carpet, Creighton uses softer makeup on the star, like Shu Uemura sheer face powder. At performance time, she adds extra coats of Giorgio Armani mascara. To turn up the glam for afterparties, Creighton dabs MAC Lustreglass lip gloss in Instant Gold on the star’s lips and curls her lashes with a Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. And most importantly, “I just want to look hot all the time,” says Furtado.

Who Got It Right? Red Tights Can Be Tricky

Colored tights can be a tricky trend for the savviest fashionista — what to pair them with? how not to make your legs look larger than necesary? — and it’s pretty bad when you get it wrong. Joss Stone is always out there with her clothing choices, and her appearance at the Monday night Marc Jacobs show was no different. A few tips for Joss: a) don’t wear textured tights with a textured dress, b) wearing mini dresses with colored tights is too much of a good thing and c) never match the color of your tights to your shoes — and hair! Rachel Bilson gets it right, keeping her red tights matte and everything else black so there is just a hit of bright color. Tell us: How do you wear colored tights?

Kylie Minogue’s Closet Hits the V&A Museum

Were you a child of the 80’s and remember doing the “Locomotion” with your friends? Then Kylie: The Exhibition at London’s V & A museum, which opens today, is for you. Gold lamé, corsets, beads, sequins and feathers galore (and that’s just one outfit!) the exhibition is a homage to Kylie’s career, featuring costumes from the 80’s through to the present. Amongst the Dolce & Gabbana and John Galliano creations, the standouts are the pale pink Chanel gown with feathered train and diamante encrusted front that the singer wore recently for her Showgirl Homecoming Tour and the iconic screenprinted Museum Dress made in 2004. And after seeing all the miniature sparkly heels that accompany each outfit, I can confirm she is a tiny size 3. If only I could own all of these, um, in three sizes bigger — in the words of the showgirl herself, “I Should Be So Lucky” right? Click here for an interactive online preview or check out the show through June 10. — Monique Jessen

Oscar Nominee Abigail Breslin Is One Lucky Kid

It’s stressful enough for any star to dress for the red carpet, but where exactly does a 10 year-old nominee shop for these event? It’s not like Balenciaga is launching a kid’s like anytime soon. Of course, adorable Abigail Breslin, aka Little Miss Sunshine, has it all figured out, attending the Oscar Nominee luncheon this week in a custom made Lucky Kid ensemble. Not only is Abigail’s outfit actually kid-appropriate, but it’s stylish to boot (yep, those are pretty cute cowboy boots). Abigail even picked the the polka dot fabric and rick-rack trim on the hem of her dress. We can’t say whether or not this is a hint towards what the Best Supporting Actress nominee will be wearing to the Oscars, but we’re willing to bet she’ll look sweet in anything she picks.
