Right Now We’re Loving: Eco-Friendly Tote

So, maybe being eco-friendly doesn’t have to cost a fortune! Inspired by Al Gore’s successful documentary An Inconvenient Truth, the designers of the drool-worthy Hayden-Harnett handbag line introduced this canvas tote printed with environmentally safe dyes. And even better, for every bag sold, 10 trees will be planted, and $25 will be donated to a combination of global warming charities including stopglobalwarming.org and Conservation International. Since the bag’s introduction earlier this month, 870 trees and the company has contributed an additional $2175 to stop global warming. And come on, it’s just adorable. To purchase the tote for $55, go to haydenharnett.com.

You can buy eco-friendly totes for $1 in Canada.

Mary

Yeah, but do the $1 eco-friendly totes plant trees and give money to charities? I don’t think so. I think this is a great idea. Plus Al rocks!

Ann

How about buying the $1 tote and $25 donation to global warming charities and $10 to American forests to plant trees? We save about $20 which could be donated to more global warming charities!

Crystal Beach girl

Mary, yes they do. You can get them at grocery stores. All procedes are donated to charities. I have many and so do my mom. That’s why we bought them. You didn’t have to be rude. I was just stating that you can buy them in Canada. They’ve been around for awhile.

Christi

I agree, I have no problem spending the money for such a great cause. That seems to be the point!

ARRiSON

Very, very cool. I love that they donate money to plant more trees.. it’s something that’s so simple and can have such a big impact. Thank you to everyone who does any little thing they can to make the world a better place – no matter how we all got here, this is the only planet we have, and I just wish everyone could agree (disputes about the reality of global warming aside) on that and work together to make things a bit greener. Afterall, we’re all part of the human race.

You almost have to give people a cute bag to get them to donate money to a worthy cause. If some people are more concerned with fashion than doing the right thing, then it’s great that the industry is showing a concience for them.

The bag is absolutely adorable!

sorry I would not be caught dead with that bag

Me

JoB is that you that said you wouldn’t be caught dead with that bag…I know you’re in BC and it sounds like something you’d say!! HAHA!

Maria

A lot of us are in U.S. so maybe we can’t get the $1 Canada totes. Also, the point is that if someone also is looking for a tote, they can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. This tote is also reasonably priced for how it looks.
