Red Carpet Trendwatch: Hugh Laurie’s “Pink”-ie Ring

If during Hugh Laurie’s humorous acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, you found yourself wondering “What is that pink ring on his pinkie?”, you weren’t alone. It turns out that it’s the Promise Ring, created by the Susen G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and unlike some of the pricier bling we’ve seen on the red carpets, it’s available for only $5 at komen.org with all proceeds going to fund research. With the SAGs coming up this weekend, we’re wondering who else we’ll spot in a charitable mood — nominees Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker have already previewed the rings for themselves.

Wow what a great way for people do donate who dont have a ton of money…or even people who do have money like Hugh Laurie! Every little bit counts! Thats great that he wore a pink ring, im sure alot of men would be too embarrassed.

I think it’s a cool item! I checked out komen.org and they sell them in sets of 2 for $5.00. With shipping it was $10.11. Not too shabby for a great cause!
