If Tyra really did have the high self-esteem she says she has she would not feel a need to “fight back” in public – neither would she feel ‘hurt’ by comments from critics. If she really wanted to be a role-model for young girls and women then she would show the good example of regular exercise (she’s not doing it – flabby) and healthy diet. 161 lbs For her height is not a healthy weight, especially at her age, if she doesn’t start getting a grip on doing regular exercise and proper diet she is going to have problems as she gets older. I am 5′11 too, and 36 years old, I know what I’m talking about. Bigger is not better or OK if you’re not sensible about it – it is unhealthy – as unhealthy as being too thin is. Tyra needs to get off her high-horse and start being pro-active by putting her money where her mouth is. Let’s see some exercise and good nutrition Tyra??

Tyra looks great. It is so sad to see models literally dying, to be thin, and when they look like tyra, being called fat. SHAME ON THE MEDIA. I am naturally small, have never had to worry with my weight. But that doesnt mean that I dont make an effort to be HEALTHY. I still think that as long as women are making a concious effort in their lives to be in good health, and take care of their bodies, it is not going to change the fact that we will always come in different shapes and sizes. God Bless Healthy, Smart, Strong Women, whatever size they may be!

i think it is commendable that tyra has continued to show america what a REAL woman looks like. good for you tyra, keep up the good work.

tyra is lovely just as she is, so what the photo didn’t look perfect… it is her body and if she is happy to hell with everyone else .. i am fed up with skinny models we have today, pushing our young girls to think that because they have breasts or a butt they are ugly … come on people .. more of us look like tyra now than before

melanie

I like how so many people commit, it doesn’t matter how you look it what counts in the inside. Wrong–it’s the american way, it matter what you look like to get anywhere. If she keep adding weight, she will lose her tv shows and modeling, people don’t like fat people.

Missy

I will never understand why people feel you have to be deathly skinny to look good in clothes. Tyra, God bless you for standing up and being yourself. You are beautiful just the way God made you. Kudos to your mom for giving you great self-esteem. I am sure people’s comments hurt an awful lot. But please remember this, something my mother told me….people will talk about you when you’re dead and you can’t do anything about that. Just be the best you you can be and don’t worry about the rest.

Cathy

I think Tyra looks great, even in the picture that trashed her. Sure, she might not look as skinny as she did several years ago, but it’s her personality and confidence that make her look even better now. Thanks for being real!

Tyra has a beautiful body. The nerve of the media- saying she is fat. They have no idea what a hot beautiful woman she is. I rather see her at this weight then a twig. She is hot no matter what she looks like. I rather see a model look like an everyday woman then a stick figure who is starving her self to stay thin..

Teri

Tyra looks great and she is not fat. People are judging her just because she has decided not to conform to the “stick figure” look that seems to have taken over Hollywood right now. Be healthy, be happy, and be comfortable in your own skin…thanks for being a great role model Tyra.
