People; a little perspective here, Please! I calculated Tyra’s BMI (National Institute of Health has a handy little calculator on-line) using her height of 5′10″ and with a weight of 131 lbs (18.8 BMI) and with a weight of 162 (23.5 BMI). Guess what? Both BMI’s fall into the “normal weight” range (18.5 to 25). So I guess it’s official: Tyra’s not fat – she’s normal weight. (And if I was her, I’d use those little facts to sue the tabloids and then “waddle” my way all the way to the bank to deposit the cash!)

Samantha

I think it’s about time someone beautiful in hollywood came out and said yes I have gained weight and there isn’t anything wrong with it.

KIM

I admire her for what she is doing, she seems genuinely happy and those tabloids reporters need to mind their own business and leave Ms.Banks alone!!!! It’s a pity that had to stoop so low!

V

I think Tyra still looks great and seems to be someone who is “real”. It’s sad that you have to have your ribs and back bones showing to be considered beautiful in this society.

Alice

I don’t think shes fat at all. I do think its interesting that she looks a lot thinner here than she does in that tabloid photo. If she is gonna be heavier and proud of it then she should of insisted on a picture that hasn’t been completely airbrushed.
Also I agree with what someone else said. Tara makes a career of judging other women and their flaws on ANTM, so she should be able to take it when the tables are turned.

Elizabeth

I feel that Tyra Banks is a beautiful person on the inside and on the outside. The beauty that she has on the inside radiates and makes her attractive. This is an ideal that we need to stress to girls and women. Trying to live up to an ideal of what beauty is, essentially is not what life is about. By working on the inside this is what truely makes us beautiful.

Amy

I think she looks amazing! Forget her profession, its her body we are focussing on here and for people to call her fat, just makes every woman who weighs more feel awful. Im about this weight, but i could never do a bathing suit this well! Go Tyra!

Anna

Tyra looks amazing – personally, I think she looks even more amazing now than she did at 18. She looks real, she looks fed, and she looks far more healthy – she glows.

I think she sets a fabulous example for many of the girls on ANTM, to be comfortable with their bodies and who they are. And now, she’s setting another example – how to deal with the ridiculous critics and their outlandish claims and insults, with grace.

Stacy

I hear there is a war going on?????

Liz

If Tyra looks bad then I give up. She is Fabulous!!! People are always going to hate on a strong, successful, and positive woman like that. So what if she is a few pounds heavier? Big deal. I bet no man would complain to be her man.

I think it just sells magazines and the trashy ones will run stories like that. I would have been hurt too.
