Hurray for Tyra!! I have struggled with weight issues most of my life. My mom says I am obese (she has no medical degree), but my doctor says I am a little overweight. My body type just won’t let me be a size 0 or 2 – I’ve tried. We need more role models like Tyra so more young women know it is okay to have curves! You go girl!!

Tyra is a great role model for every person. I have survived devestating anorexia and can tell you from experience that the media, magazines, and of course people are rude, crude, and hurtful in their words and images. I think Tyra is more beautiful now. Tyra thank you for speaking up about this and helping me realize that being “healthy” is so much more than being a “size”

Lynn

A 162 lbs on a 5′10″ model is not fat by any means.

Crys

I think Tyra looks amazing! She is a real inspiration to many young teens and adults today. She is happy and that is all that should matter. I think it is great that she is setting an example that all beautiful people and models do not need to be thin! Way to go Tyra!

RCJ.

I personally think she looks a lot healthier where she is now. In the 2005 Victoria Secret Photo, I thought she looked unhealthy.

Tyra, Thank you! Thank you for making it ok to be a size bigger than 2 or 8! There is a lot of pressure these days for women to look a certain way, and I love that you stand up for yourself and for other women. You are a beautiful woman and I wish there were more role models like you in the media.

Nicole

She looks great. It is ridiculous that there are so many people that think that anything over a size 4 is “fat”….get over it!

It’s really ashame how the media berates women.why are trying to brain wash women into thinking that those deathly looking women on the runways, magazine and tv are what all women should expire for.Tyra looks great at 130 pounds or 160….It’s her body and if that is the skin she chooses to be in at the moment that is her perogative. Plus trya has always been a supermodel who was fit.She never went over-board with her weight. She was the average women weight, just very toned. So now she has gain some weight, big deal.Leave her alone.Women are not born stick thin,we aspire for thinnese that at times kills. And the Media is mostly the cause.Women stand up and be responsible for your own body and health and do not let suppose supermodels, actress and other tell you what is the meaning of beauty,Because we all have to take off our makeup….And it sure ain’t pretty!!!

Wendy

To all the people who are saying that Tyro chose a profession that judges women on the way they look and she needs to lose the weight – HELLO – did you not get that she RETIRED??? Please! I bet you are all just as big if not bigger than she is. It’s amazing how catty women can become. I think it’s a good thing that she isn’t afraid to admit she has gained weight, and that she also doesn’t think it’s a bad thing. Someone needs to show these aspiring models that it is okay to be “real” when it comes down to it…

j

i cannot stand this woman or her narcissism, but i can’t believe some consider her FAT!! she’s very porportioned and looks good. be critical of those who don’t try to make a difference in the world if you have to hate. this story does NOT warrant the cover of a nat’l magazine!!!!
