Kate Middleton’s Birthday Dress from Topshop

Kate Middleton has been shopping on the high street again and everyone (including us) loves it! Prince William’s girlfriend, who turned 25 this week, was snapped on Tuesday morning as she left her house for work (at retail chain Jigsaw) in a black and white retro tunic dress from Topshop, £40 (or $78). The accessories buyer put her skills to use by teaming with a classic black blazer, opaque tights and suede knee high boots… and voila, the dress instantly becomes less sixties swing and more princess chic. After the photos surfaced in the British press, the dress sold out completely from Topshop, and it’s already turning up on Ebay!

Kate’s outfit is cute- although the dress alone might not have looked nice, she accessorized it well. What a pretty and classy girl to have as a new role model for young women today!

I’m not sure I like the dress as shown by itself. On her, it looks really cute, especially with the boots. She looks classy.

I love Kate, but this syle is too old for her, she’s needs something hip and classy….

I don’t like the dress, but Kate could carry it and make it really look good.

I think her outfit looks chic which is the way one should dress for work in the real world. I have worn very simmilar outfits. I just have to point out how much she resembles a taller brunette Lauren Conrad from Laguna Beach and the Hills. It is refreshing that Prince William has had a long committed relationship with an elegant classy lady. He certainly had other options and a negative male role model. It’s great that he made such a good choice. Lets hope that if she becomes his wife she will concentrate on charity work and noble causes like Princess Diana. With an outfit 10 or 100 times less expensive than what many young celebs wear to work maybe she could even encourage the royal family to live a little less lavishly and use their enourmous wealth to really give back. Ok that’s probably too much to hope for. Of course we need Kings and Queens living in Castles while children all over the world live in shacks in total poverty. Pardon me I rant because I care and I just can’t get over how extravagantly many celebrities live! Anyway she looks lovely!

Actually this dress is NOT sold out. If you have a look in the “tall” section of topshop homepage, you will find it. At least i saw it there 5 mins before….
Good luck to those who want to buy it.

P.S. You just have to be over 5ft7in!

The dress looks good on her but by it’s self, it is very ugly. Just me.

My point of view regarding this dress comes from the experience of actually owning it and havng worn it. Irrespective of the fact that Midds (as she is affectionately known by some here in the UK)owns and wears it, this truely is a really great dress. Think along the lines of the Roland Mouret range that was designed for the Gap late last year, and you will understand the beauty of this dress. It is a capsual garment that you really can just throw on with a pair of boots and a jacket when you don’t know what to wear to work on a Monday morning, and you’re good to go and out the door. I have owned this dress for just under a month and I have already got my money’s worth, having worn it to death. I have worn it a la Kate Middleton with a black jacket and suede boots,(Come on!!! I had to!!!) but I have also worn it with the jacket and over some black trousers, which also looks great (And proves the adaptability of the dress). You really can wear it in so many different ways. Every time I wear it , I get positive comments – reason enough for me to wear it until it falls apart!!! But hey, I’m in good company…

She looks fine for a young girl..now lets all follow her aroound taking photos of her and prying into her personal life. Maybe then we can get her so disturbed she’ll get an eating disorder..maybe we can find her in a few compromising sitiuations and tap her phone lines……lets all see if we can destroy her now?
