Meet The Desperate Housewives Dolls

The ladies of Desperate Housewives are being immortalized as dolls (the fashion-plate equivalent of an action figure), but these aren’t your average Barbie. Created by legendary doll-maker Madame Alexander, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Nicollette Sheridan, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross are being taken down to size — 16 inches, to be exact. According to the New York Post, the likenesses of the five actresses, in their Desperate Housewives guises will pose and bend and be unveiled at the New York Toy Fair in February and in such stores at F.A.O. Schwartz by June. And don’t think these are for the kiddies — at $129.95 each, they are being marketed primarily to collectors. The ladies are in signature outfits from a green silk frock for Hatcher’s Susan to a prim white gown for Cross’s Bree. Tell us: Would you buy a Desperate Housewives doll?

Get the Look: Jessica Simpson’s Date Sweater

Everyone is buzzing about Jessica Simpson finally stepping out in public with John Mayer, but we just couldn’t stop thinking about how cozy her sweater looked during their weekend shopping trip. We know that she’s loves wearing an oversized sweater, and think it’s great that she kept it comfy and casual on her date. A little hunting revealed that this knit is Theory’s luxe “Juliet” sweater, and Jessica owns it in three colors! Unfortunately, her exact style isn’t available, but you can get the latest version in cashmere, for $495 at nordstrom.com (rock-star beau is not included).

Shop For a Cause: Kim Family Auction

Yesterday, the blog world was buzzing about the Kim Family Auction which just launched on eBay. As you may recall, last month, readers everywhere were moved by the tragic story of James Kim who lost his life in the Oregon Wilderness. A much-loved father, husband and CNET editor, Kim was a pioneer in the digital arts community. Now that community has rallied together with the Kim Family Auction. With 100% of the proceeds benefiting the James Kim Foundation, a group of artists, designers and crafters have put their goods up for sale on eBay. Among them, this Abgail Percy necklace and this plaid capelet by Minnie Wilde. Check out all the items up for sale here, and bid generously.

Life After Project Runway: Jeffrey’s Back!

Project Runway winner Jeffrey Sebelia was all smiles the other night in Los Angeles at the launch party for his line at the celeb-fave boutique, Ron Herman. Fans can now snap up a few pieces from his finale show, including the infamous green-and-white striped zipper dress for a cool $1300, the zipper bag and blazer, as well as other pieces from his Cosa Nostra women’s line. But don’t think that Sebelia is resting on his PR laurels. Also in the works: an appointment-only boutique in West Hollywood in February, costume-designs for an upcoming live action Bratz movie, uniforms for a restaurant and maybe even outfiting a star or two for the Grammys. “I’ve had some calls,” he tells PEOPLE. “But I don’t know. It’s right around the corner!”

Is McSteamy Going Gray on Purpose?

Is it just us, or has anyone else noticed that Grey’s Anatomy’s Dr McSteamy’s (a.k.a. Eric Dane) lovs are subtly growing more gray? While flecks of salt and pepper can make a character look more distinguished — consider it the male equivalent of Jessica Alba donning librarian glasses — Infusium 23 colorist Lisa Chiccine tells PEOPLE that it’s a difficult look to achieve artificially. “If you don’t believe me, check out Tom Cruise in Collateral,” she quips. So how does a hot TV doctor go gray gracefully? “I think that Dr. McSteamy has actually been gray for awhile and his colorist is covering it up less to give him a more distinguished look for the show,” says Chiccine. “They’re probably adding product to give his hair more shine.” Whatever the process, we’re not complaining. Tell us: Do you like McSteamy with the gray? Should he keep it?
