I have to laugh at most of the comments here because they remind me of my own young, ignorant and narcissistic self thirty years ago. We, too, thought "hip huggers" looked good on everyone, and if they didn't look good on you, you needed to lose some weight.

When the flared hip huggers went "out" in the late '70s and the tapered-leg, high-waisted look came "in" I rebelled as long as I could because I thought the tapered legs made me look like a chicken. But eventually the weight of peer pressure wore me down - well actually it was mostly that they stopped making flares and hip huggers - and I got used to the new style until it seemed normal and the old style started to seem dated and funny looking.

When flares and hip huggers came back in I rolled my eyes and laughed. These things go in cycles, kids, and you don't have any say in it; it's at the whim of the fashion industry. Apparently the '80s styles are coming back in now. Get used to it and deal. Go buy your high-waisted, tapered jeans, your Oxford shirts (be sure to turn the collars up) and your scrunchy white boots now before the price goes up. And start imagining how you'll look with big hair so it won't come as such a shock. Go rent Working Girl and some John Hughes movies to get an idea of what you have to look forward to.

Now, if only boys' jeans that are so baggy they look like clown pants and show their ugly underwear would go back out of style. I mean, come on, that Marky Mark ad was what, fifteen years ago? Enough already!

Seriously mom jeans, are really nerdy! The best jean in the whole world, is a newer, up and coming denim line, called RawState Denim. It seriously makes my butt look so good, and makes me look 10 pounds thinner! They sell them at cute little boutiques, so everyone and there "mom" no pun intended are wearing them! Yay finally a great jean!!

Ha! Is so funny to see teenage girls in the mall struggling with their low-rise jeans, trying to keep them up, showing their muffin-tops and their butt-cracks in the food court or whenever they have to bent down. Those looks are ugly as hell, I've never liked the look of these jeans. Is something refreshing to see that they are bringing back the high-waisted jean so women can get rid of all that visual pollution that I mentioned above. Welcome back high-waisted jeans!!!! Ciao muffin tops and butt-cracks!!!!

i don't think those jeans would do anything for a woman's figure. they are a bit too high waisted and i imagine they make the rear look flat as a board as well.

LOL These are the funniest comments. The pants are indeed mom-jeans, but with a flare update instead of the typical tapered leg. In fact, I almost did a double-take because I couldn't belive these jeans were actually being promoted on this site.

Hopefully more designers start to make normal-waist jeans. Not too low or too high.

Have any of you actually measured the rise in you pants lately???? The average rise in a pair of pants is between 7" to 9". 9" on me comes just below my belly button, so these jeans are not at the waist and would not be as uncomfortable as you would think. Yes they showed the smallest pair they could get their hands on and yes on a really skinny person they would look really silly but if you went to the website to check out the product you would see they were put on larger sized women to model them. They actually look pretty comfortable to me. I would send the people I know who might like the product to check it out because I think most of them would buy it if they found a style they liked and felt was comfortable. Don't bash something you don't have the full story about... Look beyond one bad picture..

What is the deal with jeans these days? Either they are cut just above your butt crack, so you A) can't sit down without having plumber butt or B)the waist is so darn high you can tuck your jeans into your bra. What's wrong with jeans that sit at or slightly below the waist? I have a long torso, but also have big hips, so I prefer jeans, that fall just below the belly button.

It would help if people bought clothes that FIT. Everyone is so obsessed into fitting into the proverbial size 4. For those muffin tops, perhaps you haven't heard that clothing sizes today are not really accurate. Sorry. You would look slimmer if you wore something that fit and flattered your shape.

The cut doesn't look flattering and the waistband is too high... there are other fashionable jeans made by 7 for mankind or Paige jeans that are not super lowrise jeans but also not cut quite this high either. I think they need to put a pair of NYD jeans on someone bigger than a size 2. Doesn't look like the model wearing these has a tummy to hold in.

back in my teens when low rise were 1st popular, everybody wore them whether they were right for their body shape, just like today. I can still hear my mom saying "you should see yourself from behind". and quite honestly, if a few more people would see themselves that way, they wouldn't be wearing those jeans. you have to realize that as many people see you from behind as do from the front. as for these jeans here, I have to say...wear what you're most comfortable in, trends come and go, and of all things, I would have to say jeans are the hardest thing to find to fit right AND look right

Piccyhoeface, I couldn't have said it better myself! I live in southeast Missouri and the muffin-top paired with short, clingy tee shirts is a MAJOR problem around here with the high school girls. No, I'm far from some skinny person just trying to give everyone a hard time, but with the lack of up-to-date trends that people wear around here (very small towns that offer NOTHING), the least these girls can do is pretend they look in a mirror and buy the size 6 jeans that they actually need instead of insisting that they're a size 2 (seriously, a size 6, who WOULDN'T want to flaunt that? I know I would, but maybe it's just me.)... oh, and since I'm not a twig the high waist on these jeans would be unbearable for me :)
