What To Wear on New Year’s Eve: Sequins Like Gwyneth!

From the French Connection dress that everyone seemed to be wearing to blinged-out minis, stars like Gwyneth Paltrow have been shining in sequined dresses this fall. We think it’s the perfect look for any holiday party, but especially for New Year’s Eve when you really want to amp up the glitz and glam factor. Who doesn’t want to stand out in a crowd at the stroke of midnight? You’ve got less than a week to shop for the big night, so check out a few of our favorites:

Had too much fruitcake last weekend? Breathe easy in a swingy shape, like this bowed LaRok mini, $248, or this silver-tipped Foley dress, $374.

Worried about getting chilly? Keep covered in this sleeved option from Emmy, $478, or how about this Spiegel slip dress with matching cardigan, $118?

Want to make moves in metallics? Slip into silver with this French Connection sheath, $228, or get the gold in this Newport News halter, $69.

Just want a hint of sparkle? Try a sequined clutch from Ann Taylor Loft, $25, or these adorable Beverly Feldman flats, $85?

Would You Wear Fluffy Uggs?

As trendy as they may seem, many of you refuse to give up your Uggs. In fact, eBay Marketplace Research has reported that in the past two weeks alone (December 5-December 18) 2,330 pairs of these love-to-hate boots have been sold on ebay.com causing a sale increase of 104.4% in only 14 days! But it’s not just about the classic shearling-lined Ugg anymore — there’s a new-generation style turning up on trendsetting feet. Mariah Carey (left) and Desperate Housewives Nicollette Sheridan have been sporting the brand’s Fluff Momma fuzzy boots recently. Mimi kept her toes cozy with a pink pair while hanging out in Aspen while the actress threw a neutral pair over some grey sweats while last-minute Christmas shopping in LA. What do you think of the Fluff Momma? Would you wear a pair?

Worn Free Like Jennifer Aniston

Looking to satisfy the cravings of a punk-era obsessed relative or friend? Check out Worn Free, which sells t-shirts based on vintage designs once donned by 70’s musicians John Lennon, Frank Zappa and Joey Ramone. Or grab a t-shirt designed by legendary artists such as John van Hamersveld (Jennifer Aniston was spotted in one of them.) Each soft cotton tee comes with a tag (resembling a backstage pass), which features photographs of the rock icons wearing the original designs. They retail for $40, but wearing a shirt design made legendary by Lennon can make any music fan feel like a million bucks.
