Sneak Peak: Stella McCartney Does Skincare

Already known for her beautiful clothing and accessories (that pals like Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johannson love), designer Stella McCartney is introducing a skincare line, appropriately called Care. Launching in the US in February on sephora.com, it will include seven products, from a cleansing milk to a green-tea-and-linden-blossom floral water, all made with 100% organic (0% petrochemicals, 0% silicones, 0% chemical preservatives) ingredients to match McCartney’s all-natural, vegetarian principles. The packaging is gorgeous and streamlined and the products feel amazing (I’m addicted to the musk rose-spiked Nourishing Elixir already.) To let all of us beauty editors in on the big news, we were invited to lunch at a chic, modernist Meatpacking District flower shop. The designer, who was eight months pregnant at the time, couldn’t be there so she taped a video message that we watched while dining on a dainty vegan lunch and testing the products. And then — what else? — a waiting phalanx of hybrid cars zipped us back to our offices. – Elizabeth Lamont

Fashion Faceoff: Ashlee vs. Tori (vs. Me!)

I grew up in Texas like Ashlee, and I dote on my pug like Tori — it evens turns out that I own the same adorable paisley Free People velvet tunics as they do. But, that (and my non-celeb status) is where the similarities end. Both Ashlee and Tori treat this piece like a dress, just wearing it over tights — while I pair mine with leggings or jeans, because it is simply too short to wear with stockings! If I bent over in my dress without something very opaque on underneath, I would risk some very indecent exposure. My hat off to these ladies if they have figured out something about keeping covered in a micro-mini that I haven’t (and kudos to Tori for not just sticking to maternity wear). This is a whole new dimension of super-short hemlines. Tell us: Would you wear a dress this short without pants? Who wears it better: Ashlee or Tori?Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

Gifts for Everyone: Fabulous Fakes

Shopping for the glam girl in your life just got easier (and cheaper!). Add an elegant touch to her already fabulous wardrobe with Fauxsie jewels. Grab white gold earrings with amazingly real-looking “diamonds,” like these Asscher Drops (left), for only $400 — Eva Longoria is a big fan. There are even diamond tennis bracelets for only $150 — a must-have in any jewelry box. Unlike other faux-stones, Fauxsie’s are cut like real diamonds, which means they’ll have depth — enough to fool any eye and sparkle in photos.

Mariah-Oh-Meter: Rate Her Snow Look!

In pure Mariah style, the singer braved the snowiest night in Aspen Wednesday to party with friends and family. Carey kept warm in a very tight leather jacket, second-skin black pants, high heels and dark oversized shades. (So what if it was at nighttime — and snowing?!). We love how delicately she carries her glass of champagne through the flurries. What a trooper! On a scale of One being Congresswoman conservative, and Ten being ready for her video vixen close-up, we’d give this look a Six. Afterall, she’s gonna get a serious draft unless she zips up more! Tell us: On a scale of one to Ten, how would you rate Mariah’s oh-factor in this look?
