Britney Goes Brunette: Does It Work?

12/11/2006 at 01:43 PM ET

We just can’t keep up: We’ve barely finished breathlessly recounting the details of Britney Spears’ post-divorce makeover, when she — oops! — did it again. The newly single pop star stepped out Dec. 8 in L.A. with newly dark hair, continuing her follicular ping-ponging over the past few months. No word on whether her stylist Rita Hazan — who was responsible for Brit’s short-lived blonde bob — engineered this makeover as well. What’s your take: Do you like Britney better blonde or brunette?

See who else has changed their hair recently in our archive.

Hey, Candi, you cannot generalize extentions because at least 90% of women in Hollywood wear them. You cannot always tell but they are there. They add body and volume, not just to make your hair look longer.

And to this blog, Britney. One question: Where are your KIDS?!

She is just such a pretty girl, I personally think she looks cute as a brunette and I love her as a blonde.

Brunette, she is a natural brunette anyways and I think keeping your hair natural is the best thing.

She looks better blonde. I agree with everyone else, lose the extensions

she looks much better as a blonde or maybe if she didn’t do the dark hair so dark and went with a light chocolate color.

This message is to Britney and all other selfish parents. If you decide to bring children into this world, please have the decency to at least be there when they wake up! Children need their parents more than anyone. A nanny cannot replace you. Please think about the consequences of your actions. One day your son and his friends will see that vulgar picture of you without any panties. That’s horrible.

She should soften it to a medium brown with some subtle highlighting and then get a decent style and some soft make up as she really needs to be less “in your face” and over the top in ALL aspects of her life. Then she should sit down and re-introduce herself to her children. I’m sure the oldest one is left wondering where she’s gone, since for the longest time he was her favorite accessory in most of her photo ops. Now he’s gone the way of Shiloh and Suri and is rarely seen … by the way, has anyone seen her SECOND born? {I doubt he’s been photographed and I just somehow missed it since the media reports on every hangnail Britney has these days.}

I like the dark much better, regardless, it always looks greasy. She just needs to clean up her act, she looks rough.

Too bad she didn’t spend as much time with her children as much as she spends on her hair. Either way when I see her, all I see is a partying woman who leaves her babies at home to induldge in her childish behaviour. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is her children. PERIOD.

Brunette for sure, but maybe a little lighter.
