Wanna Smell Like Gwen Stefani? Her Perfume Is On Its Way!

12/06/2006 at 04:10 PM ET

It’s the moment so many Harajuku Lovers have waited for: Gwen Stefani announced today that the first perfume in her L.A.M.B. line will debut next fall. Gwen said the as-yet-unnamed fragrance, marketed by Coty Inc., the brand behind Lopez’s perfumes and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely, will be “classic and timeless,” and you can bet she means classic Gwen. “I am creating it for myself,” she said. “It’s like me shrunken into a box.” The collaboration was kept top secret until today’s announcement at Manhattan’s trendy Hotel Gansevoort. Reporters were told only that an “international style superstar” was behind the scent, and they couldn’t stop guessing who it might be. Madonna? Lindsay Lohan? Eva Longoria? But Gwen was definitely a popular choice. As an internationally adored clothing designer and pop star, it’s surprising that this is Gwen’s first foray into beauty, but she promised it’s not her last. “I’m already excited about the next one,” she says.

Seems like every celebrity has their own fragrance now
Anyway I’ll stick to to the tested and true like Elizabeth Taylor, Chanel no. 5 and so forth
I’m not a fan of perfumes anyway

Seems as though using Celebrities on EVERYTHING these days is just the best marketing strategy. I wonder when Supermodels will regain the covers to magazines…
Oh and Gwen’s talent is gone over and beyond ridiculous. I’m missing Nodoubt more and more even though I didnt care too much for them either. Whats up with the HighSchool Band stuff!
Oh and SJP’s Lovely, is very lovely!

I kind of agree with you Lisa. Gwen’s voice is not that great when she’s singing, it’s all about the catchy bit. I notice that there’s a lot of celebrity who has clothing line as well and the prices are over the top.

I for one am a big fan of hers. I love her music, style and we both have some things in common: Same birthday and I got my name from the movie that inspired her to sing: The Sound of Music.

Let the merchandising of celebrity begin!! That being said I could be tempted to buy it ~ if it doesn’t smell cheap and flowery like most celeb perfumes

Wow – it always amazes me how much people can sit there and insult people they don’t like. If I don’t like someone I don’t make a point of reading up on them or worse, typing up a comment. If Gwen was so talentless she shouldn’t be out there getting bigger by the day and one of the most influential celebrities. I am sure if YOU were as talented as Gwen you wouldn’t be miss the opportunity to branch out as much as possible when you are in your prime!!GO GWEN GO!! LOVE YA!

I’ll stick with what I have now! I prefer REAL designers. Oh and someone needs to tell that girl to talk her husband into making a new record. I know I’m not alone on that one… I’m sure we would rather see him sing than her flaunting her body in barely there outfits running around talking about “that sh** is BANANA’S” what??? who wrote that???
