Has Hollywood Gone Mad for Plaid?

12/01/2006 at 02:00 PM ET

Is lumberjack chic overtaking Hollywood’s hottest men? We noticed Heath in his red-and-black plaid shirt a few weeks ago, which we chalked up to being a Brokeback Mountain memento. Then, we turned a blind eye towards Vince Vaughn in his plaid shirt, hoping it might be for his role in Fred Claus. But we just can’t ignore trend-setting Adam Brody’s buffalo plaid buttondown, though — more Brawny Man than Barney’s, the lumberjack look is clearly taking over for fall. Tell us: What do you think of the look?

I think it’s cool that they’re not trying to be all GQ or trying too hard. I do think the red plaid is a little tacky. They should try neutral plaid colors, or like a previous poster said, maybe put a vest of some kind over it. Not sure, but regardless, I commend them for trying something new.

Please give Vince just credit for starting this style. In fact, about all Vince ever wears is jeans and one of his infernal plaid shirts, not tucked in – kind of like Brad in this photo, only Vince carries it better.

When even Heath Ledger looks unremarkable in what he’s chosen to wear, you KNOW it’s not a great style!

Awwww…. Heath! It looks good, I like plaid, it just looks like Heath’s playing peek-a-boo at the bottom button though.
