Christina could look even better without supporting animal cruelty. There is nothing fashionable about brutally killing and skinning animals for their fur.

The jacket would look just as good if there was synthetic fur. There’s no need to kill animals for decorative purposes. The rabbits are raised in tiny cages where disease spreads rapidly. They are eventually killed by having their necks slit. Choose designers like Stella McCartney and Mark Bouwer that don’t use real fur.

I love Christina’s hoodie, but I’m against wearing real fur. I did buy a hoodie from American Eagle with faux fur in the hood though! =)

Christina would look just as lovely in faux fur. There’s simply no reason to support the enormous animal abuse inherent in the fur industry. Christina already sets the standard for fashion — she should also make a statement for compassion.

Jessica, we all do things that other people will object to, but some things are more objectionable than others. Fur is not in the same category as wearing a skirt the wrong length. Fur means cruelty to animals, needless suffering, and animal exploitation for profit. It’s not just a fashion don’t, it’s an ethical don’t.

Lose the shearling, Christina. Have you given a thought to how the rabbits killed for your jacket lived and died?

Go ahead and express your individuality in a way that doesn’t harm others.

I would like the outfit if it was faux fur. Fur is just cruel and unnecessary these days. Faux fur is just as warm, looks the same and is humane. It’s sad that anyone would choose to wear real fur.

Fur is cruel and unnecssary. It’s really not to much to ask to not wear the skins of tortured animals.

I lost a lot of respect for Christina. I’m surprised that she would try to make a fashion statement (an ugly one at that) that inherently involves animal cruelty. It’s the 20th century – we can do better than that.

People wore fur when it was the only thing to keep them warm and they also ate the meat. Wool is not “fur”; you don’t kill a sheep to get the wool – they are sheared and left alive.
