Fantasy Gifts: Our Birthday Picks for Scarlett Johansson

As pedigreed as her film roles may be, it’s hard to believe that Scarlett Johansson is only turning 22 tomorrow! She may be young, but her sense of style is already well-honed. We actually have a few thoughts on what gifts to get this glamour girl, you know, if we had unlimited budgets and were actually friends with her. Anyone who fits those qualifications, feel free to crib from us! Do you have any gift ideas for Scarlett?

1. After spending some time in London filming Scoop and Match Point with director Woody Allen, she may be missing the anglo-way of life. How about a colorful candle from British designer Matthew Williamson? Maybe she just needs a spot of tea and some biscuits while watching some of Woody’s best movies!

2. We wouldn’t expect Scarlett to show up to her birthday party in jeans. We think she’d look lovely in this satin dress from pal Stella McCartney or this sweet, but sophisticated strapless dress from Vera Wang.

3. To keep her bombshell looks in place, how about some killer red lipstick from Three Custom Color and L’Oreal Volume Shocking Mascara? Of course, if she wants to keep playing around with her hair, she can try Color Pulse for a quick change.

4. We wouldn’t want to leave out Scarlett’s constant companion — her chihuahua, Maggie! We think the fashionable pooch would look fab in this Polo skull and bones sweater when she emerges from her new Bianca carrier.

Beauty Products to Get You in the Holiday Mood

Who can think of Thanksgiving without remembering smells of baking pies and roasting turkeys? While we will never recommend a fowl-smelling perfume, here are a few beauty products that are getting us in the Holiday spirit just sniffing them.

This is one time to have dessert first! Take Philosophy’s Pumpkin Pie 3-in-1 into the shower with you, $16. Spritz on Jo Malone Ginger Nutmeg Cologne afterwards. $50.

Slough off dry skin and smell yummy with Philosophy’s Gingerbread Man scrub, $25. Get your chapped lips ready to chow down with The Lip Scrub in Brown Sugar, $20.

Want your home to smell like the holidays have arrived? Light a White Barn Frosted Cranberry Pillar Candle, $13, or set out Henri Bendel Home Fragrance Oil in Cinnamon Bark, $9. Not ready to get a Christmas tree yet? Thymes Frasier Fir Reed Diffuser has all the familiar smell, none of the pesky needles, $67.

We fell in love with Natalie Portman’s cape as soon as we saw her in it (the purse we’re still a little iffy about). Not only did we find a great one, but it’s on sale! From downtown NYC designer A. Cheng, this cape would look great over pants, jeans, or a dress for a night out. What about pairing it with this adorable Paul & Joe for Target skirt, marked down to only $18? What could be easier?

Mariah-Oh-Meter: Rate Her Look!

As other divas change their looks — Britney, Whitney, Courtney — you can always count on Mariah for her signature second-skin dresses and larger-than-life hairdos. At the Make-A-Wish Foundation gala in Beverly Hills this weekend, Mariah Carey turned up to be honored in a low-cut maroon micro-mini and sky-high metallic stilletos. On a scale of One being Congresswoman conservative, and Ten being ready for her video vixen close-up, we’d give this look a 7. Considering that it’s a charity benefitting children, a longer hemline and higher neckline would be a lot more kid-friendly! Tell us: On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate Mariah’s oh-factor in this look?
