Lindsay Turns Anti-Fur: What’s Your Take on The Fur Debate?

No stranger to wearing fur, Lindsay Lohan was about to be named to PETA’s upcoming worst-dressed list. But a PETA spokesperon tells us that the actress seems to have had a change of heart after seeing the organization’s anti-fur window displays at Topshop in London. During her whirlwind week there — which included the Casino Royale after party and hosting the World Music Awards — she was seen wearing a white fake fur jacket and an anti-fur button on her hat. While PETA tells us that Paris Hilton and other celebs have sworn off fur, Jennifer Lopez and other stars have recently been spotted in fur-trimmed jackets. Tell us: Where do you stand on the fur debate? Would you wear it?

people have been wearing fur for thousands of years and when it wasnt for fashion, it was for warmth! I love fur.

The difference between fur and leather is kind of simple – how often do you eat chinchilla? I for one think that rabbit fur looks better on my two pet bunnies that are currently hopping around my apartment than it does draped over the shoulders of someone desperately trying to look like a hotshot.

i would never ever wear fur. The way in wich they get it is absolutely horrible. and meat and leather are different. The animals dont suffer as much, and the lether is just a biprout of killing them. but fur is nasty

NO FUR! The poor animals are kept in tiny cages to fatten before being electrocuted to not damage the pelt, then skinned before the rest is discarded. Have you ever seen a tiny little chinchilla? It takes HUNDREDS to make a coat!

Leather comes from animals used for meat, predoniminantly cows. I wish the whole world were vegetarian… but for many people it is not healthy or possible. I have no problem with the hides of meat stock being used, much better than wasting it!

But no animal should die for its beautiful skin alone…

I would not wear or purchase any new fur clothing, however there are a few fur peices that were my great-grandmother’s that I would consider wearing.

I love Lindsey for doing this! Anyone who wears real fur is horrible! Thats pretty sad if you have to wear REAL fur .. it just doesnt make sence.

leather is a byproduct most of the time used from a cow that has been raised for food purposes.To kill 30 minks for one coat to look cool is disgusting.Think about it that way

Lindsay has a heart after all! YAY! Fur itself is beautiful, worn on the animal it comes from. After watching a video of animals being anally electrocuted, smashed into the ground, and SKINNED ALIVE with no painkillers whatsoever- i have vowed fur-free forever! And have you seen PETA’s undercover video of the Dog and Cat fur trade? OMG! I swear if you watch this, you will be fur-free forever! http://www.furisdead.com

Absolutely not, I will never wear fur!! I think there is a difference between killing an animal for food, and killing an animal for their pelts. God may have made us dominant over animals, but I don’t think God intended us to torture them for no good reason!
