Diane Keaton Rocks Skinny Jeans at 60!

11/13/2006 at 11:00 AM ET

Skinny jeans are much-maligned these days as being too young, too trendy or just plain unflattering. But looking at ever-delightful Diane Keaton in her skinny blues: We think she looks fantastic! At age 60, she’s still retaining all of her signature quirky style — note the wide belt, oversize plaid coat — but updating it with a flattering and youthful twist. When asked by PEOPLE recently how she maintains her shape, she wisecracked “I don’t do anything. They slapped a girdle on me.” Whatever she’s doing, it’s working for us. So what do you think? Now that you’ve seen Diane Keaton wearing skinny jeans, will you?

wow she looks sexy! for 60 he did pull the jeans off i think skinny jeans can be pulled off if u have a long coat to cover up ur ass and thighs if u do have a ass or thighs that ur not proud off!

Actually, AGE is not the barrier for wearing skinny jeans, its the SIZE of the woman/man… no matter what your age is you will look gorgeous! Moreover, the tops and accesories that are fashionable now conform well to skinny jeans.

She looks absolutely amazing!! I hope to God I look that good at that age. You go girl!

AnnieM on

She looks great – if I had her legs I’d wear ‘em too. Love the coat also, but I’ve always been made for plaid.

You Go Girl! I will admit Diane Keaton has had some fashion mishaps in the past (taking huge advantage over the “mens suit look”), but she always seems to get it together and is still looking great not for 60, but just as a woman in general!

Paula on

She looks simply stunning, I envy her since I’m not the type for wearing those kind of jeans and I’m only 37. It doesn’t have to do with age. Diane rocks!

Bravo! She looks awesome–never mind looking that good when I’m her age–I’m half her age now and I’d say she looks better! Great class, brain, and style. Bravisimo!

I think Diane looks FANTASTIC! For that matter, I’ve always thought she had a unique sense of fashion and managed to look both stylish and adorable even when fashionistas mocked her. Hope you feature her again!

diane looks GREAT, but the skinny jeans are just not for me.

My mom totally rules the “skinny jeans” look. She wears them with boots, flats, heels, whatever! People should wear what they want. If they are happy with what the mirror presents to them, then go for it.

SHe looks damn good!! I am just glad to see her out of the glove phase. Diane Keaton is always a class act.

She looks great. Even though she occasionally misses the mark with her clothing choices she is one of the most beautiful women out there today. Bravo!!

I think she looks great. i’ve bought my skinny jeans two weeks ago and I just loooooooooove them. I think it’s not a matter of age, if they fit, you should wear them, they’re great!

Christine on

I will never buy into this trend… but Diane looks wonderful. Love the coat.

I should look this good now at 38 let alone at 60! But having 4 kids hasn’t helped my body any.. :)

Grow the freak up! You are 60 not 16! Just go put on your moo-moo and stop trying so hard!

Diane Keaton looks amazing in her skinny jeans. I really hate the whole age appropriate hang ups most women have. Diane is an excellent example of a woman with style and confidence (not to mention a great body) that dresses as she pleases. A woman with class and style never has to follow any rules.

So what if she’s 60? She’s not allowed to look good anymore or what?
You know ,it’s truly inspiring to see women over a certain age who still take care of themselves and like to dress up. Good job, Diane!

I have never liked Diane’s taste in clothes but she sticks to what she likes and screw what anybody thinks about it so I say good on her. I DO think she looks great for her age though and it’s good to see some stars have avoided the urge to get plastic surgery as they get older!

awwww!!Diane looks GORGEOUS!!! I love that outfit!! She’s my fashion-icon #1 and favorite actress of all times!!!!! Diane Keaton forever!!!!!! With all my love from Ukraine

She looks much better than Sienna Miller on the photo up here !

Oh please, skinny jeans look horrible if you have wider hips.I know I struggled through the 80′s and I’m not doing it again. It has nothing to do with age. Wearing skinny jeans with wider hips makes you look like you have little pig feet. It just doesn’t work.

I love Diane and love the way she dresses how SHE wants to. But if I wore skinny jeans just because she does wouldn’t I be going against the very idea she promotes, which is dressing for her own pleasure.

To finally see Diane Keaton out of her usual Annie Hall garb is refreshing.

This is a fabulous way of showing that you can wear the trends at any age and look smashing. So age appropriate!

Repeat after me, everytime you want to call someone a style icon, please remember the true definition of one, such as the lady being featured here!

She looks fierce!!! Kudos to her.

Where did she get her coat from?

My gosh, I can only pray that I look like that when I’m 60. She’s gorgeous!

Natalee on

Yay for Diane Keaton! She is just stunning. Wearing skinny jeans doesn’t really matter how old you are, it is the state of health you are in. If you were really wide in the hip areas or something of the such, skinny jeans wouldn’t look all that attractive, actually they wouldn’t justify the persons figure at all. It takes a certain body type to pull the skinny jean look off. Diane Keaton looks to be in good shape and she can pull something like the skinny jean look off. I love her coat and that belt. She really hit the nail on the head, because she just looks stunning and so well put together. She just looks so trendy and fashion forward. She looks amazing and kudos to her for looking healthy for her age. One can only hope they can look just like her at that age. She is rockin’ those red heels, which I LOVE. You go girl!

night on

Never mind the skinny jeans. Look at that great coat, and the way she used the belt. I love the look.
