Great Gift Idea: Fan Earrings (For Only $9)

It was love at first sight when we spotted these cute fan earrings. But when we saw they were only $9, we were almost beside ourselves with glee. Yes, they’d be a great gift for a girlfriend or sister, but at that price, we might have to splurge and get two pairs! (They’d be perfect paired with a black turtleneck to a holiday party.)

Joanie’s Take: The Inside Scoop on America’s Next Top Model

Model and America’s Next Top Model alum (cycle 6) Joanie Dodds gives a weekly insider’s view on the hit show.
The episode kicked off with the girls learning action modeling from Gabrielle Reece, an amazing model and athlete — not to mention she is married to amazing surfer Laird Hamilton! Action modeling is something I think every model should work on — challenging but important. I’ve done several shoots involving some serious action, including underwater, jumping and playing tennis!

The challenge the next day was to model next to Nascar driver Stanton Barrett — as his angry girlfriend! GO CARIDEE! Amanda rocked as well, and Michelle won! As usual, there was a twist. Even though Michelle won the challenge, she had to then compete in a shopping spree against three other girls. Why did Melrose get all the clothes!? That really ticked me off, and I hope she at least shared with the other girls, especially Michelle!! But we know she probably didn’t. Click through to the next page to read the rest of Joanie’s Take on this episode.

Even Cate Blanchett Has a Miss Now And Then

We always think of Cate Blanchett as being an incredibly stylish woman; one of the rare stars who can push the edges of fashion and still look classic. But seems like even Cate has bad days. Attending a screening of her new film Babel (which already has major Oscar buzz) in her native Australia, Cate combined a cropped pantsuit with a red sweater and boots for a look that falls short of her usual impeccable standards. (We much prefer her in this fabulous silver Ralph Lauren gown). Sorry, Cate. We’re not digging the pantsuit.

Are You Ready To Give Up Uggs?

One of the most loved-and-hated trends of the past few years has been the emergence of Uggs — originally popular with L.A. girls like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, the look spread like wildfire. To be honest, I fought the trend for as long as possible, only succumbing to their cuddly charm in the midst of a blizzard last winter. I know the pastel look, especially the bedazzled variety, have long worn out their welcome, but can’t I wear my tan ones when the temperatures drop? Do I need a new pair of boots to keep me warm this winter? What about you: Are you ready to give up your Uggs? If so, what are you replacing them with?Melissa Liebling-Goldberg
