J Brand Jeans: Why Angelina Jolie & I Love Them

11/08/2006 at 05:00 PM ET

Upon her arrival in India to begin filming The Mighty Heart, Angelina Jolie realized she had underpacked. She sent a fashion SOS back to the states to get more pairs of her favorite J. Brand jeans shipped to her (the 14″ cigarette leg in Ink and Jett). Who knew I had so much in common with Angelina — I, too, am a terrible underpacker and addicted to J. Brand jeans. I have three pairs now — the 10″ skinny in Ink(wearing them tucked into boots right now!), the 12″ in grey, and the exact 14″ jeans in Jett as Angelina (well, we don’t exactly wear the same size). The 14″ (ankle circumference) perfectly bridge the gap between the super-skinny jeans and my old beat-up bootcuts. Each pair has the perfect amount of stretch and no logos or branding on them — even celebrities want a little bit of anonymity in their lives. A word of warning: wash the black jeans before you wear them with a white shirt. And yes, I did learn that the hard way — hope Angelina didn’t have to, as well! — Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

The jeans look good on A. Jolie…What does the 10″, 12″ and 14″ refer to?

For the previous comment, the inches refer to the ankle circumfrence at the bottom of the pant leg.

I love these jeans; they are so comfortable. I do not own a pair as they are too expensive for me to afford, but I have tried on a pair and they are heavenly.

She looks great, love Jolie!

They look really nice. I like the line it gives her. I wonder if they would look good on curvier girls like me though. I have been searching high and low for a pair of dark wash jeans. How much are these anyway?

What a nice shape! I love that they’re not too skinny at the bottom. Of course, they probably wouldn’t look as good on a curvy 5’4″ girl. :- /

They would look awful on me, but Angelina with her long-legged frame pulls it off nicely.

Sigh . . . What is more universal than the endless quest for jeans. Of course what doesn’t look good on someone like Angelina Jolie. Reading the various comments on the blog, though, gives me hope—guess I’ll look for these & at least give them a try. Thanks!

They do look nice on her, but if you’re not serioulsy slender you end up looking like a sausage. The % of the female population that can wear these is quite small – I predict too many gals wearing these that really shouldn’t be – similar to all those unsightly midrifs we’ve had to endure.

They look great on her and I like how they are not too skinny at the bottom, but judging by the picture on the right.. they’re a little too low waist for me. Like I said, they’re great on her though!

I love these jeans… in fact, with the 20% off discount, I’m thinking about purchasing a pair. Does anyone own these or have tried them on? Do the sizes run big? What are they similar to?

I own paige, rock and republic and chip and pepper in the same size, are the sizes for J Brand similar to these brands? Thanks guys.
