What is That Ring On Cameron Diaz’s Finger?

Cameron Diaz has been spotted wearing something very shiny around town on her left hand ring finger, sparking rumors of an engagement with her singer/designer boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. But, Cameron’s sparkler is actually nothing new — she’s been seen wearing it quite a few times in the past. We did some investigating and tracked it down: It’s a three-band, three-colored-gold ring from Cartier that’s been in the jeweler’s collection since 1924. Fantasy Gifts: Our Birthday Picks for Julia Roberts

Our favorite Pretty Woman was born on October 28, 1967, so today she is 39! We have a few thoughts on what gifts to get her, you know, if we had unlimited budgets and were actually friends with her. Anyone who fits those qualifications, feel free to crib from us! (Danny, we’re talking to you.)

1. To protect her famous pout, we would give her a Lip Balm from Laura Mercier, her go-to makeup artist. And for her famous locks, how about Charles Worthington Dream Hair products? (Bonus: the beautiful bottles will look great in her bathroom).

2. For the activist side of her, we would give her the adorable and all-organic Nature Girl Products. And since she has been involved with Unicef for several years, she would love the currant-scented Bond No. 9 Scent of Peace, which donates a percentage of its proceeds to the organization.

3. October babies have opal as their birthstone, so how about this David Yurman Pink Opal Spiritual Bracelet, which donates 20% of its proceeds to Breast Cancer charities.

4. What if Julia wants to give a preview of her performance as the voice of titular Charlotte in the new live action movie to her twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus? She should have a copy of the childrens’ classic Charlotte’s Web handy. And if she’s not up for reading, they can always pop in the orginal animated version.

What To Do When Mischa Barton Steps On Your Dress

It’s not easy to walk down the red carpet with a long train on your dress, as Anne Hathaway learned when she donned this flowing Zac Posen gown to the Fashion Group’s Night of Stars event last night. “The biggest problem,” Hathaway told PEOPLE, “is not the train itself, but other people stepping on it.” And guess what? A moment later, Mischa Barton placed her stiletto heel on the back of Hathaway’s dress, didn’t notice and wasn’t moving. Hathaway turned politely and asked, “Sorry, Mischa, can I have my dress back?” Mischa lifted her foot and the two said hello. As for Barton’s dress, though not everyone loved her puffy, one-shouldered Bebe number, stylist Rachel Zoe, who was being honored that night, said it was “fabulous and edgy and gorgeous.” — Jeffrey Slomin

Update: Carmen Electra’s Busy Hair Week!

Earlier this week, Carmen Electra ditched her warm blonde color for dark brown. And she has changed it again! Wednesday night, Carmen showed off her new blond highlights at a party in L.A. Her reps tell us that the brunette look was just for a photo shoot, and she wanted to go back to being a little lighter. Our readers seemed torn about which look they like better, so we’d like to think she took your advice and split the difference! We’re digging this chocolate base with caramel highlights (are we still talking about hair or candy?). Tell us: what do you think of Carmen’s newest hair color? Would you ever change your hair color just for the day?

For those of us who wear glasses, finding the right frames is critical– and usually a chunk of change.
