For those of you that love Alain Mikli eyewear you may be interested to know that The 20-20 Optical Store in London is the UK’s largest stockist of Alain Mikli glasses.

It is also what is known as a ‘pocketshop’. This means that it is one of only a very few selected stockists to receive exclusive Alain Mikli designs.

I need very thick glasses in order to see (-12 now, -13 most likely after my upcoming exam — anyone know what that means?) and they don’t come cheap. With the extra charges for high power, high index (to make them thinner), anti-reflection coating, and edge polishing (to make the concentric circles look nicer) it’s $400 for lenses. Then another $50 – $100 for the frames.

I have 30 pairs of big, bold, and beautiful plastic frames in my prescription, which fortunately has not changed in 14 years. For the most part, complete pairs cost $30-$50. I have just 2 pairs that cost over $100, as I don’t wish to pay exorbitant $$$ for a major necessity like glasses.

I think that if you can afford to spend alot of money on glasses that you wear every day, why not spend it. We spend alot of money on our clothing, jewelry and accessories, why not spend a little on a pair of glasses that compliment your face and your show off your eyes. I just spent $400 on some Prada frames and high quality lenses, and would buy a whole eyewear wardrobe if it was in the budget.

umm …. i would pay the maximum of 4000 …. i just bought a pair from D&G what were 900 …. and my chanel sunglasses are about 400- 800 a piece. … and i have like 10 pairs or more!!! ….

I have to wear glasses since I was 12, and since then I had 7 pairs of glasses. Right now I’m wearing most expensive of all – I paid 310& and I think I will never buy such expensive glasses. I always broke it so there’s no point to pay 2000&! I think I’ll make an eye correction surgery than buy such expensive glasses…

Wow, Ebony. I didn’t know that buffalos had plastic horns!

Though expensive, these glasses are at least made with expensive materials (horn, gold, and platinum), not plastic. I imagine that the people who bought them equate them to a piece of jewellery.

I have paid $300 for a pair of Valentino glasses, but wouldn’t pay anymore than that. But I do really like those glasses!

2000 is way to much for glasses. I wear contacts daily so I got glasses that weren’t too much…I think they cost around 150. if it’s a person wearing glasses daily I could see spending up to 300, but anything over that seems excessive.

Yeah I know. I’m good at having people going. I’m an actress. But Still i would neva eva pay 2000 or even 500 for glasses. You could get something way better than that with your money. Like a purse….

People,people. Most of these frames are plastic.
Or metal.
Even high end frames.
So think about it. Would you pay 300-what did Lucy say.. 2000 for a couple of pieces of plastic?
Boy they know how to rip women off. Slap a designer logo on a pair of glasses and get them to pay 300 dollars for it. Isn’t that sad ladies? Let’s make our glasses like Ben Franklin!!

My mom recently bought a pair of D&G glasses (not sunglasses) at the price of 2200 and i thought that was much! but comparing to 2900?!!

I go through glasses like crazy… between breakage and changing prescriptions, I wouldn’t spend more than $300 for a pair… I’d never spend $2000 on something that will probably only last me a year.

I don’t wear glasses, but if I did wear glasses, I would not pay over $350 for a pair. I agree with RT. Lucy has to be bull sh@#ing about spending 2 grand on a pair of glasses. Unless her income is muchhhhh more than the average working class person.

No more than $300, but that’s pushing it…and this is coming from someone who can barely walk w/o wearing glasses (ok, that was a little exaggeration, but that’s about how blind I am.)
