Jessica’s All-Black Look: Gloomy or Grown Up?

Is Jessica feeling gloomy? Or is she turning Goth? ‘Cause lately, our favorite bubbly blond has ditched her normally colorful and flirty wardrobe for black, black, and more black. From L.A. to New York to London, Jessica has been in head-to-toe-black — and we do mean that literally! In addition to embracing her darkside, she also seems more covered up. She headed out for the after-party for Employee of the Month (middle) in knee-high boots, black jeans, black turtleneck, and a Dior ski jacket — and the temperature outside was a warm 78 degrees! Is she trying to keep in step with fall’s more somber palette, or is this meant to look more mature and sophisticated? Tell us: what do you think of Jessica’s new all-black wardrobe? I think Jessica is depressed she misses Nick and still loves him! I read an article about her saying she only wears dark colors when she is sad.

I think the way you dress reflects how you feel. I know that when I don’t feel like being outwardly friendly, I dress down in a more unaproachable way. The girl just got divorced, has poor record sales, and her movie ain’t doin’ so hot. Jess isn’t exactly in a high place in her life right now….for a million dollar superstar. Who really cares what she is wearing as long as she is happy.

i don’t think jessica looks very good right now. she looks frumpy to me. i love all black, but she has put on some weight and her hair looks better long. i liked her better in her dukes of hazzard days.

I think she looks good in black; it compliments her hair which is so blond and beautiful. But her makeup artist needs to be fired. The makeup is much too heavy and dark for black outfits. She should play up her lips instead.

Lately, I’ve been over the whole Jessica Simpson thing. Not to be rude but, people only really care about her personal life. She hasn’t made a great album in a long time, she hasn’t made her voice the focus of her career as she should (like she did back in the day and sounded amazing). She’s gotten so self-absorbed and sucked in to the publicity machine that she’ll pretty much do or say anything to get noticed. The whole wardrobe, personally I think she’s just testing things out for Fall, some are great some are not. How funny that we’re all sitting here commenting about this!!

I love black and I think she looks great. Who cares why she is wearing it. Maybe she is trying to set a trend, or maybe it is weight or depression or maybe she just LIKES it.

Who cares? If she wants to wear black, let her wear black. If she wants short hair, let her keep her hair short. She is obviously confident enough to wear it in public, and it doesn’t look bad. Goodness, and I am sure those who are criticizing her probably don’t look even close to her (on her worst day)on their best day. Moving on…
