Letter Perfect Gift Idea: Initial Necklaces

I don’t know about you, but I always get slammed with birthdays in late September/early October. People born around this time are Libras, an astrological sign known for being quite charming, like Gwyneth, Naomi and Hilary. Which is why I’d bet on them liking one of these tiny Marian Mauer Initial Charm necklaces. I gave one to a friend recently and it was such a hit, it may become my standard present for all significant birthdays (the ones that end in “oh!”). Yes, it’s a bit pricey, $215, but it’s 18k gold and something she’ll treasure forever and wear every day. Don’t you think a tiny “H” would look great on Hilary Duff? You Asked, We Found: Kate Hudson’s Boots

1298/Most Wanted/ZUMA; Finalpixx

I loooooove the tan boots that Kate Hudson is wearing in your “I Really Love My” gallery. Do you know who makes the exact ones she is wearing? I would love to find them and purchase them!“-Michelle Bennigson

Michelle is not the only one! Kate’s boots were such a hit yesterday that practically everyone who saw them has been begging us for the buying information. Since we love with them, we tracked down everything you need to know. They are a classic design from Parisian designer Barbara Bui. The color of Kate’s boots is currently sold out, but if you just love the style, you are in luck. The Barbara Bui boutique in Manhattan has them in stock in dark brown and black for fall/winter. They can be yours– for a whopping $710– by calling 212-625-1938.

If you are more in the mood for a steal than a splurge, try these Nine West boots at zappos.com or these J. Crew boots (thanks to our eagle-eyed readers) for a similar look. – Andrea DeSimone

What Was She Thinking? Mischa Barton’s Early Halloween

Normally, we applaud Mischa Barton’s fashion daring — if any one can pull off a wacky look and still look beautiful, it’s usually her. But this outfit (left) leaves us scratching our heads and wondering if she just can’t wait the extra few weeks for Halloween. Is it just us or does that skirt/ankle boot combo look like the Great Pumpkin-goes-Punk? At least now we know the actress’s political stance, thanks to her Universal Mind t-shirt. Tell us: what do you think of Mischa’s look?
