Joanie’s Take: The Inside Scoop on America’s Next Top Model

Model and America’s Next Top Model alum (cycle 6) Joanie Dodds gives a weekly insider’s view on the hit show.

Well, holy moly! I loved and hated this episode. The first real makeover is always the best, don’t you agree? It’s fun to see just what these girls are going to get done — and who is going to cry. (I sound so mean!) As a past contestant, I cringe and feel their anxiety. But the biggest makeover was Jaeda –from Cute College Girl with Layers to Hot Halle Berry Pixie! She definitely pulled it off. After getting their makeovers (which I loved!!) from a super master stylist (stop whining!) — the girls had to face their next challenge, the HAIR WARS! Click through to the next page to read the rest of Joanie’s Take on this episode.

Fashion Faceoff: Jennifer vs. Juliette

Nothing deflates the thrill of a new purchase faster than seeing someone else wearing the same dress. So imagine how stars must feel when they see photos of other celebs in the same frock they thought they were rocking. . . Jennifer Lopez wore this kimono-style Roberto Cavalli dress while acting as the Grand Marshall, along with hubby Marc Anthony, of the Puerto Rican Day Parade earlier this summer in New York. A newly blonde (rumors swirl that it’s for a role) Juliette Binoche turned up at the Venice Film Festival in a black version of the same dress. Great fashion minds really do think alike. Tell us who wore it better: Juliette or Jennifer?

Fantasy Gifts: Our Birthday Picks for Naomi, Gwyneth, and Hilary

Three’s the charm for today’s birthdays — Naomi Watts, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Hilary Duff were all born on September 28. They are all beautiful and stylish women, and we wish them very happy birthdays! We have a few thoughts on what gifts to get them, you know, if we had unlimited budgets and were actually friends with them. Anyone who fits those qualifications, feel free to crib from us!

1. Gwyneth (right) is turning 34 today! She is back to doing yoga after the birth of son Moses, so we’d give her an Adidas by Stella McCartney (one of her close friends) yoga mat. After yoga she can slip into McCartney’s skinny jeans and funnel neck coat. Now that she is living in London, she needs a good British bag like this Mulberry Bayswater bag. To keep her pale blonde hair in perfect condition, we would get her the Blonde-Aid Masque for deep conditioning. To keep daughter Apple close to her heart, how about this Tiffany Elsa Peretti pendant? And of course, in keeping with her famously organic eating habits, we would put 35 candles into this Diamond Organics Espresso Cheesecake.

Can We Talk About Last Night’s Project Runway?

Last night’s episode eleven of Project Runway began with the designers selecting their models and being sent on to Nina Garcia‘s offices at Elle for their assignment. They each had to make a look that defines who they are as designers, along with picking three words to encapsulate it. Michael took his time deciding what to do, and Uli tore hers apart at the end of the first day. The designers then had to photograph their models in the outfits in a representative way to turn over to the judges. After naming Uli the winner for her short tie-dye dress, the judges decided that the other three contestants had enough promise that they should all show at Bryant Park. No one was eliminated, and there will be four finalists! Click through to the next page to read more and leave a comment.

P.S. Don’t forget to check out PR Alum Nick Verreos’ Dish on the show. Click here to read and then come back and comment!
