Vera Wang’s Show of Courage

The saying goes “the show must go on” and for designer Vera Wang, those words have never been harder than they were today. On the morning of her highly anticipated Spring 2007 runway show, her beloved father passed away. A seminal figure in Wang’s life and career, it is he whom she credits as encouraging her to first create bridal gowns. The sad news was conveyed to the show’s attendees by a simple note found on each chair. It read “In memory of C.C. Wang.” Unable to cancel or reschedule, the famously tough designer bravely made an appearance. At the end of her beautiful and inspiring show, Wang walked solo down the runway, tears streaming down her cheeks, while the crowd which included Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kanye West, rose in ovation to salute her. There was hardly a dry eye in the room. “It was incredibly beautiful, one of the most spectacular shows I’ve seen in a while,” says PEOPLE Style Director Susan Kaufman. “It was a special moment.”

If you’d like to pass along your wishes to Vera, you may leave your thoughts here and we’ll see that she gets them.

Orlando’s Movie Looks: Vote For Your Favorite!

Let’s face it: There are very few guys who can look hot, regardless of the character or role they’re playing. And Orlando Bloom (sigh…) is one of those special few guys. He’s been Elfin Hot, as Legolas in The Lord of the Rings. He also looked like the missing member of Nelson, but we’ll overlook that. He’s been Man-in-Uniform Hot in the action-packed Black Hawk Down. He’s even been hot in movies most people haven’t seen, like Australian Gangster Hot in Ned Kelly and Crusader Hot in Kingdom of Heaven. My personal favorite is Pirate Hot in (Pirates of the Caribbean, of course. What, did you think I’d say Elizabethtown?). Yarr! Talk about booty-licious. — Cara Shultz

Now PEOPLE magazine wants to know: Which of his movie-screen looks is the hottest? Click here to vote now! See the results in next week issue!

Can We Talk About Last Night’s Project Runway?

Last night’s episode ten of Project Runway began with a twist. At a “party” for the designers, Heidi Klum revealed the hidden benefits of winning earlier challenges — she brought back Vincent and Angela for one more challenge, meaning that three contestants would be cut at the end of the challenge. They were tasked with creating a cocktail dress out of only black and white and had to use every last scrap of fabric that they bought in the final garment. Laura grappled with self-doubt, and Jeffrey grappled with Angela being back. With guest judge Zac Posen looking on, Laura won for her young and chic lace babydoll dress. Vincent and Angela were cut once more, as was southern boy Kayne. Click through to the next page to read more and leave a comment.

P.S. Don’t forget to check out PR Alum Nick Verreos’ Dish on the show. Click here to read and then come back and comment!
