Gwyneth's Sexy After-Baby Girdle

09/08/2006 at 11:00 AM ET

Leave it to Gwyneth Paltrow to make wearing a girdle sexy. As her alternative birthing guru, Dr. Gowri Motha, reveals in this week’s issue of PEOPLE magazine, Gwyneth has relied on Agent Provocateur’s waist-cinching Postnatal Control Brief, $120, to help her hide those extra pounds she’s still carrying after giving birth to her second child, son Moses, in April. But this undergarment isn’t like anything hanging in grandma’s closet: With red satin detailing and detachable suspender straps (the better to wear with sexy thigh-high stockings) it’s sure to help shape your body — by getting your heart racing! (Note: It’s currently out of stock, so you’ll have to be patient if you order one!) — Galina Espinoza

I was mainly looking for a place to comment about Lindsay Lohan’s bag drama in a London airport. I was just disappointed that the thief did not take the ugly hat Lindsey was photographed wearing instead of her purse!

Wearing a girdle may make you look great at the time but it makes your stomach/butt/thigh muscles flabby and dependent on the girdle. It would have been better if she just sucked it up for a few months and had flab and fat while she worked it off and toned her stomach down again. Actually, as a new mom, when I saw the title of this post I was all excited because I thought it was some special exercise program to tone the areas damaged by childbirth… guess I was wrong!

yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk…if ya wanna look as though you’re a few pounds lighter, go to the gym or exercise and actually be a few pounds lighter! don’t go to the band-aid solution of wearing something to hold your curves in…your body is your body…if you want it tighter or loser, do that the natural way through food and exercise…this girdle thing is stupid…its like that infomercial for that pantihose that “sucks in your fat”…pure rediculous…

ONCE AGAIN….Do we really need to know about what the stars wear for undergarments?!?! For God’s sake, show some respect!

Girdles…I didn’t even know what one of those looked like. Now I do. Hopefully I won’t ever have to wear one. They look so uncomfortable and so tight….

It is exactly like grandma’s. Have you not looked at old support garment adds. This just shows that the older cuts are still the best. Even the Sears catalogues still have girdles like this in the oldlady section. Give me a break.

Come on people… It is strictly about new moms we are talking about! When you feel overtired and overweight. This is a quick fix for those first weeks: when you can’t exercise and actually would like to feel better about yourself! Anyway, in Europe the doctors recommend it so that the organs and all get back where they belong… When I had my baby I tried wearing one, I could not stand it for more than 5 minutes. They are VERY UNCONFORTABLE. And yes, I agree that the best solution is diet and exercise, always!

I hate the way a girdle doesn’t have high legs on the side. it cuts right into your leg and hurts as you can see from the pic, the flesh is pressed on the side of the leg. They threw a red ribbon on this sucka to call it sexy. No way! GRANDMAish !!
