Courteney’s Busy Day

I was lucky enough to start my day by having breakfast with Courteney Cox. No, really! This morning, she spoke on behalf of Kinerase, the skincare line that she is the face of, to a group of editors. After hearing all about their new products (if they make me look like Courteney, sign me up! She looks amazing in person), she showed us a film about EB, a skin disease that afflicts kids (victims are often known as “butterfly children”). The actress has become very involved with raising money to fund the EB Medical Research Foundation — she has even gotten Kinerase involved in donating a percentage of their sales to the charity.

And a few hours later, after changing from her beautiful lace blouse and pinstriped skirt into a stunning satin dress, she was joined at a press conference by designer Nicole Miller, to announce a limited edition bag that will contribute 10% of the proceeds to the EB Foundation (in conjuction with Kinerase again). In addition, they will be sending a version of the bags out to celebs to decorate, which will be auctioned off later in the year with a 100% of the proceeds going to the the charity. Wonder if Courteney’s best friend Jennifer Aniston will get out her glue gun?

Courteney continued on to another reception for the brand, but then her hectic day was over! But don’t expect to see her at any fashion shows or parties tonight — it is hubby David Arquette’s birthday, and the night is promised to him! – Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

Texting From The Tents: Fashion Week Stars!

New York Fashion week has begun with a bang today- models are walking, editors are watching, and the real show is what celeb is in the front row! Here is an inside glimpse into what it’s like to be at the fashion shows, thanks to our intrepid editors and reporters. Check back throughout the day for updates!

Galina texts:
1:31 PM: It’s a good day to be Ivana Trump: as there are no other celebrities here, the paparazzi have swarmed around her-I can’t even see in front of me because there are so many cameramen blocking my view…. Oh wait, I see another celeb. Heiress Casey Johnson stands up to pose for a few photographs. And just past Ivana, I see Ileana Douglas.

1:25 PM: At the Marc Bouwer Show. Just sat in my front-row seat. There was a bit of a wait just to get inside – they appear to be way off schedule. On my seat is a goody bag, but I don’t think I have to report these items to the IRS: a travel-size Aveda cleanser, a small tin of sugar-free Altoids, Creative nail polish in the shade Red Baroness and a CD of an episode of the newsmagazine show, In the Life which, the sleeve informs me, airs on Public Television.

Swag We’ll Pay For: ToyWatches

Lots of fashion magazines have been proclaiming ToyWatches as the next big wrist-thing this fall, and after seeing how they were snatched up by stars at the The Silver Spoon Hollywood Buffet in Los Angeles, I’ve decided it might be time (no pun intended) to get one for myself. Sophia Bush (showing off hers, left), Keira Knightley, Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, Randy Jackson, Drew Lachey, and Jerry Ferrara have been all seen sporting these watches, which are described as Rolex-Meets-Swatch. My only dilemma now is to choose which style and color to buy. Should it be the pink Mother of Pearl, shown left, $250, or maybe the Sport Chrono with a black dial, $225. What do you think? Check them out at toywatchusa.com. — Angela Matusik

Gwyneth’s Sexy After-Baby Girdle

Leave it to Gwyneth Paltrow to make wearing a girdle sexy. As her alternative birthing guru, Dr. Gowri Motha, reveals in this week’s issue of PEOPLE magazine, Gwyneth has relied on Agent Provocateur’s waist-cinching Postnatal Control Brief, $120, to help her hide those extra pounds she’s still carrying after giving birth to her second child, son Moses, in April. But this undergarment isn’t like anything hanging in grandma’s closet: With red satin detailing and detachable suspender straps (the better to wear with sexy thigh-high stockings) it’s sure to help shape your body — by getting your heart racing! (Note: It’s currently out of stock, so you’ll have to be patient if you order one!) — Galina Espinoza
