Ah I’ve to agree that certain body types just can’t pull off the ‘skinny jeans with flats’ combo, even if their body is generally toned. And trying too hard to be ‘fashion-forward’ may just make you a victim – so stick to what flatters your body, but tweak the accents to keep up with the trend if you want to.

Try this – if you’re less like Kate Moss and more Kate Winslet [circa Titanic], wear well-fitting straights instead of skinnies, and avoid flats at all cost.

Or if you do make that impulse buy and later find yourself cringing at the reflection in the mirror, pull over a top that ends just below the widest part of your hip. Stiffer materials like stretch cotton are excellent, because they drape beautifully around your ass, and not reveal unsightly bulges.

Personally, skinny jeans in all it reincarnations won’t work for me unless I get some liposuction done [ok, or if I ever hit the gym], so, instead of investing in a new pair, I reworked a vintage one [read: old] [also read: mom's] and made it low-rise. Save the waist and turn it into a belt, for when the season arrives.

What else? I do fancy the look, really, and AM ENVIOUS that some girls look sooo good in it. Guess it’s high time that I hunt for that other pair of skinnies in my wardobe – my running tights.

Forget this fall, skinny jeans are the fashion right now!! It will proabbly take till fall for more people to catch on though. I love my skinny jeans, which I fold up once at my ankle and rock them with the converses. Heels are sooo cute with them too.

My name is Lisa. I am only 5ft and need my jeans in petites. I would really like a pair of skinny leg jeans and i cannot find any. I have been to Macys,Lord and Taylor,
Kohls, JC Penny and nobody has any. Do you know of anybody who has them in petites. Also which brands look good for someone who is only 5ft.
Can you also reccomed a brand of jeans in straiht jeans the classic fit or another fit that would look good on someone who is petite. I read most the posts here and think those who trash ‘em can’t rock ‘em and are jealous for that reason…

I loved the ’80′s and will wear mine even after everyone’s “done” with them! They are comfortable…they’re like leggings if you ask me. I don’t think they’ll disappear anytime soon. Like the cliched boot-cut which hung around a good number of years, so will these.

When I first heard about skinny jeans coming on the scene, all I could think about were the high waisted acid washed tapered jeans from the 80′s that some women still wear that are now known as “mom jeans”, and I thought “Oh my God no, that’s horrendous!!” However, after seeing the modernized version of the skinny jean, I actually liked them but couldn’t find a pair at any store being that I don’t live in the most fashion conscious town. But surprisingly I lucked up and found a pair of Levi’s low rise skinny jeans for only $7 at a discount clothing store which was about 2 or 3 years ago?? That was the only pair I could find anywhere at the time, but now they are everywhere, and I still like them. I just hope the baggy high waist pants pulled even higher on the waist as I have seen recently in Glamour doesn’t catch on. Think Urkel meets Annie Hall fashion. That looks bad on any body type.

try skinny co’z they look sexy and feminine. you just have to mix it up with your top and shoes, but i would prefer some flats. plus! they are comfortable..

i think the people that dont like skinny jeans are the ones that cant wear them lol.i think they look good on girls.. im not so keen on boys that have jeans that are tight all the way to the ankles, but i have to admit I have a several pairs of skinny fit jeans myself.

ok i really dont think skinny jeans look good on tall people. seriously, it just makes them look skinner && taller. i think it looks good on the average women && shorter ppl cuz it makes them look taller && thinner. my best friend & i wear them all the time && we are both short, but this SUPER tall girl tried to wear them && they looked really bad. just pick out a straight legged pair.. not one that is super super tight or zips on the bottom [SICK!] then pick out a cute pair of flats and an oversized shirt.. oh yea big purses && small sweaters help out the style too. but if you are overweight.. then skinny jeans are not for you. they show TOO much curve && fat. you need to be somewhat curvy [my friend has HUGE hips && me an ass] or skinny && short. but not skinny& tall.. you would just look anorexic.

my daughter looks fab in skinny jeans she has long slim legs and nice shape these look good on tall slim girls but equally if you have long legs and are tall and a curvy 14 they look good as long as they are looser at the ankle area and not too clingy i would suggest if you take a 14 in normal jeans then a 16 ina a skinny jean if you look at simply be catalogue there is a girl modelling them who looks a size 14 and because she is tall with long legs they suit her but short fat legs a no no

This is so stupid! I think that skinny jeans obviously don’t look as amazing on rather large people but basically anyone can wear them. I know tall skinny people who can wear them and I (being a curvy 5’3″ girl) look good in them as well. It’s a personal choice and anyone who is saying these aren’t for “real women” are ridiculous.

I recently did an article or our school newspaper on skinny jeans and although people didn’t respond very fondly to it. I basically said that skinny jeans are for people who are SKINNY. Not people who are average or fat. And even skinny people look bad in them, but at least it’s tolerable. They look like those “relaxed fit” jeans your grandma would wear. I think they’re gross.

I’ve been thinking and looking around for the last 2 years the skinny jeans appeared and guess what???? i just bought a pair!!! I’m curvier than both JLo and Beyonce , 5.4 and 120 pounds, and I always said I would never wear them. but I finnaly tried them and found a pair that fits me in James brand. Because I think the trend will not last that much anymore, I didn’t want to pay a lot, they were 60% off and it was good. It’s more straight, not cig but it goes with those pregnant tops that flare around the waist and it’s perfect!!!! for my body. Can’t wait to wear them!!!
If you’re not obese and too short, I say go 4 it!!!
