Shop With A Cause: TakePride Ts

09/04/2006 at 06:00 AM ET

Whether or not you’re behind the war, you can definitely rock a stylish look while backing the men and women risking their lives overseas. Takepride showcases tees with great graphics and a hipster sensibility for both sexes. Just look at this cute little coral t-shirt with a logo inspired by an army medic’s dual duties of combat and curing, $20. Plus, 20% of Takepride’s profits go to charities and causes that assist combat veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. If you’re looking for a smaller token of appreciation, check out these camouflage wristbands. The packaging is nice, the price is right—$1.99!—and you can choose among these military-minded words: courage, honor, strength, bravery, victory and pride. I’ve been trolling for more items—hats, necklaces, etc.—so if you have any hot suggestions of your own, I want to hear from you. Peace out! – Anne Marie Cruz

This t shirt is ridiculous. No fight will result in heal.

Way to support your soldiers pal….whether they want to be there or not…they are saving your butt here in the USA so you have the luxury of…hmm…lets say…writing stupid emails!

Message Sara: you obviously do not know the role of a combat medic; it is our job as soldiers to be able to save a life, or take it if need be. That is the meaning behind this shirt.

I’ve done a ton of research into merchandise and t-shirt design and am impressed by the style here. Very cutting edge. For a company using proceeds to support one of the most important causes around right now, they should be commended on making such cool clothing items. Seems like something made by someone with both a business/legal mind as well as compassionate and creative insticts.

COOL shirts! What a fantastic way to support the soldiers and show we care. The TakePride website offers many unique T’s…I’m buying mine today and telling all my friends.

I think this is a great way to show support for our troops! It’s important that we show our appreciation to those men and women risking their lives, no matter what our view on the war is. I checked out Takepride’s website and they have a bunch of different shirts inspired by men and women serving in our military. My brother is currently serving in Iraq and I’m definitely going to rock one of these T’s for him!!!

What a fabulous idea! Not only are the t-shirts a great way to support our troops and the incredible sacrifices they make each and every day to keep our nation safe, but they are a very cool fashion statement as well. A totally unique and creative concept coupled with charitable support is an idea everyone should get behind. I can’t wait to get my t-shirt in the mail and wear it with pride.

Whether you’re for the war or against it, I think these trendy shirts are a great way to show support for the men and women who have the guts to give their lives (literally) fighting for a cause the country’s leaders have chosen to pursue. I like that the shirts contain quotes from actual soldiers, and the designs and colors are perfect for the fall season. This is a great new collection and a worthwhile cause to support.

Right on Sara!!!! Yet another way to exploit the war for financial gain. aren’t the ‘support the troops’ magnetic ribbons on the cars enough???

Meaghan on

I resent Lizard’s comment. TakePride is not about politics – it is about the people – and as Americans it is our responsibility to support the servicemembers who are out there everyday (whether they want to be or not) fighting for our freedom. The Ts are awesome and I can’t wait to rock mine. Keep ‘em coming!
