What Was She Thinking? Sharon Stone’s Dress

This isn’t Sharon Stone’s first time making a questionable fashion decision — or even the second– but last night, as the host of the Macy’s Passport Gala, she raised eyebrows with her risque rump-revealing frock. While the front of her black satin dress looked elegant and a touch conservative, the back was quite another story! There were two sheer panels that revealed not only all of her thighs but a quite a bit of her booty as well. We don’t know if this was intended to shock or if Sharon just didn’t realize how high or how sheer the panels were. Tell us: What do you think of Sharon’s dress? Would you wear it?

Tell Us: What’s Your Favorite Mascara?

We know that we are all passionate about lip gloss, but what’s the other thing we can’t leave our homes without? Mascara! It’s a must-have in the morning. Some of our favorites include the classic Lancome Definicils, Maybelline Great Lash, and the new Chanel Inimitable, all shown here. Click through to the next page to read more of our favorites and then tell us: What is YOUR favorite mascara?

Cara says:
I am a slave to the pink-and-green tube! Maybelline Great Lash (in very black) is pretty much the only thing I’ll put on my lashes. It lengthens yet separates the lashes, and pretty much eliminated my need for an eyelash curler. (I do use an eyelash comb, however.) It’s super-cheap, yet still works better than any of the expensive brands I’ve tried.OH — and Smashbox. That’s pretty awesome as well.

Melissa says:
To fake the fake lashes look, I use two coats of Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black. It gives me long, voluminous, black lashes that never flake. It’s my holy grail of mascaras!

This week’s cover story of PEOPLE magazine deals with a hot-button topic that is on the mind of many women — the increasing pressure to be thin. PEOPLE’s story takes a look at how the fashion and entertainment industries are reacting, whether it is startling thin Nicole Richie denying an eating disorder to Portia de Rossi recounting how she ultimately won her battle with anorexia. We spoke to models, designers, doctors and actresses about this important issue. Now, it’s your turn to tell us your thoughts. Click here to read the story in full, then come back and tell us what you think. Is the celeb obsession with weight loss out of control? Joanie’s Take: The Inside Scoop on America’s Next Top Model

Model and America’s Next Top Model alum (cycle 6) Joanie Dodds gives a weekly insider’s view on the hit show.

Well, holy moly! I loved and hated this episode. The first real makeover is always the best, don’t you agree? It’s fun to see just what these girls are going to get done — and who is going to cry. (I sound so mean!) As a past contestant, I cringe and feel their anxiety. But the biggest makeover was Jaeda –from Cute College Girl with Layers to Hot Halle Berry Pixie! She definitely pulled it off. After getting their makeovers (which I loved!!) from a super master stylist (stop whining!) — the girls had to face their next challenge, the HAIR WARS! Click through to the next page to read the rest of Joanie’s Take on this episode.

Fashion Faceoff: Jennifer vs. Juliette

Nothing deflates the thrill of a new purchase faster than seeing someone else wearing the same dress. So imagine how stars must feel when they see photos of other celebs in the same frock they thought they were rocking. . . Jennifer Lopez wore this kimono-style Roberto Cavalli dress while acting as the Grand Marshall, along with hubby Marc Anthony, of the Puerto Rican Day Parade earlier this summer in New York. A newly blonde (rumors swirl that it’s for a role) Juliette Binoche turned up at the Venice Film Festival in a black version of the same dress. Great fashion minds really do think alike. Tell us who wore it better: Juliette or Jennifer?

Fantasy Gifts: Our Birthday Picks for Naomi, Gwyneth, and Hilary

Three’s the charm for today’s birthdays — Naomi Watts, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Hilary Duff were all born on September 28. They are all beautiful and stylish women, and we wish them very happy birthdays! We have a few thoughts on what gifts to get them, you know, if we had unlimited budgets and were actually friends with them. Anyone who fits those qualifications, feel free to crib from us!

1. Gwyneth (right) is turning 34 today! She is back to doing yoga after the birth of son Moses, so we’d give her an Adidas by Stella McCartney (one of her close friends) yoga mat. After yoga she can slip into McCartney’s skinny jeans and funnel neck coat. Now that she is living in London, she needs a good British bag like this Mulberry Bayswater bag. To keep her pale blonde hair in perfect condition, we would get her the Blonde-Aid Masque for deep conditioning. To keep daughter Apple close to her heart, how about this Tiffany Elsa Peretti pendant? And of course, in keeping with her famously organic eating habits, we would put 35 candles into this Diamond Organics Espresso Cheesecake.
