LOOOOOOOOOOVE THE DRESS! Love the film.
Love Kelly. Love the ring.
Have been to Seattle for work and heard all the society ladies chatting up Elsie Katz's Penthouse Showroom for a year now. I understand it looks like an old Parisian Atelier. My friend who dances with the Pacific Northwest Ballet tells me the designer was listed in the "Most Influential People" issue of Seattle Magazine last year & should be a raging snob but is instead a doll of a girl who shuns the spotlight, parties and press...Are you listening Lindsey Lohan?....and I've heard she has a cow, & all other types of barnyard critters as pets! Talk about trendsetting! Anyway, congrats Kelly. And nicely done, Elsie Katz's Donna Baxter!

I spend an enormous amount of time styling for film and editorial, so I think i have an really good eye for fashion.
Kelly Macdonald's beaded dress was really gorgeous and a breath of fresh air. I had the good fortune of having seen it up close at an Emmy afterparty, and can tell you all that it was the lovliest dress and she was the most darling woman of the entire evening. I was impressed that she had such a forward sense of fashion and chose to ignore the boring trend of plain dark mermaid columns being worn by every wannabe fashionisa on the carpet. Award shows have become so dull, so safe, but she instead showed enormous taste by wearing a vintage inspired dress with that hip modern ring and simple touseled hair. Bravo for her win, and bravo for her wardrobe selection!

I really thought it was the best dress of the evening for all the reasons mentioned above. I am really surprised that none of the so-called experts picked it out among the masses of floor-length numbers out there.

I like the dress. unlike many of the cookie cutter dresses others wore, it looks like it could be worn for most any night out on the town without being impossible to move in or trailing through the street and tripping the wearer. Classy elegance and practicality is hard to beat.

hm....commenter hali must not have seen the way this dress moved, ever so gracefully, as kelly macdonald walked up to claim her award. it was stunning. i can't believe all of those embellishments are hand done! so refreshing next to all the purple fluff seen on emmy night this year.

I think Kelly looked amazingly beautiful in the Elsie Katz Dress. She's has such a vintage look about her with her heart shaped face and delicate manner...reminds me of old hollywood glamour. I felt it really worked for her. Plus it was nice to see something really different from all the large merenque-like gowns. Bravo on being a standout in a sea of lemmings.
