Heels That Actually Feel Like Sneakers

In this week’s StyleWatch section of PEOPLE magazine, Mariah Carey’s stylist June Ambrose praises the Steve Madden shoes created for the “Adventures of Mimi” tour, saying “They crafted us a seven inch inch pump that felt like a sneaker.” Personally, I couldn’t imagine how a heel that high could be as comfy as my beloved Keds! But, last night I went out in my brand-new pair of Cole Haan heels with built-in Nike Air technology. I still had all of my usual wobbling on-uneven-sidewalk issues, but my feet didn’t hurt! The whole sole is thickly padded and even a little bouncy. They may not replace my sneakers for long days of shopping (I stand in awe of the future Ms. Cruise’s stamina) but I could definitely go out dancing without fear. — Melissa Liebling-Goldberg

ha…im a short short person yet i will never understand heels…can’t walk in them…don’t find them comfy…that’s why i guess this sneaker-type high-heel may work with me…but i have no need to be taller…i’d rather play it safe and stick to my runners and ballet flats…heels look too fancy for day to day office wear…

i pretty much ADORE my newest steve maddens. i have two pairs of the lalo platform peep toe stilettos. i bought the red patent leather pair first, upon seeing them online and finding them a day or so later. they surprised me with how wearable and non-painful they are at all. then a couple weeks ago i bought them in the neutral snake skin.
then, saturday, i bought the newer closed-toe version i think they’re called lemore or something like that, in black suede. wore them last night to the bar, couldn’t tell i was wearing heels this morning.
those are my fave non-high designer shoes for comfort.

Do people seriously spend $275 on shoes? Seriously?

Brianna

That might actually work!! And they’re not bad looking either. I could wear these with almost anything. I give these a thumbs up!

Isa

Seriously Megan, have you never seen Sex and the city?
There are tons of shoes over $300. Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, etc. ALL OVER $500!!!

Megan

Isa, I know, but that’s a lot of money to spend on one pair of shoes!!! :)

I agree with this quote -”But, last night I went out in my brand-new pair of Cole Haan heels with built-in Nike Air technology. I still had all of my usual wobbling on-uneven-sidewalk issues, but my feet didn’t hurt!”

I LOVE my Cole Haan shoes. Now you have the classic style of Cole Haan and the comfort of Nike. Only thing that can beat that is chocolate that makes you skinny.

i feel awful wearing heels, because i’m tall enough (5′6) and i hate feeling taller then i truly am. i don’t understand such women who are more than 5′7 and wear very high heels.
